Chapter Twelve- Part Three

Niall's POV 

The lads & I were joking around at Liam & Dani's flat. "Mate remember when you..." is how almost every sentence started. We were reminiscing in our XFactor days. From when we went solo to when we were put together, two years ago today. Louis said something about Harry, and we all fell over laughing.

"Lads, I'm so thankful that we met and were put together. I'm especially thankful for our success and support from each other." I tell the lads and Louis starts to tear up, making us start to tear up. "Lou!! You know I hate crying!" Zayn said and we all started laughing through our tears that were forming.

Liam's POV 

God I miss Dani. Luckily I got to talk to her today! I can't wait to see her next week. Hmm. I'll make a date to Skype her before I go to bed. I text her the details and she replies back agreeing and a time.

I look at the clock: 6pm and the party starts at 7. "Okay lads. Time to get ready for the party! Semi formal lads!" I say. They all nod and we split, agreeing that we'll meet at the party. Caitlyn, Amanda & Lia are meeting us there as well.

*Skip ahead to the party!* 

The lads are wearing their outfits they wore to the Brits.

Amanda's POV 

WHOO HOO! Party!! Dani, El & Perrie were hiding until Simon said to come out. Oh it's time!

"Hello everyone and welcome to One Direction's 2nd birthday party!" Simon says and we all clap, cheering loudly. Simon laughs, "I am very proud of these five lads. They have made it, gone so far in just two short years. So proud of you boys."

As Simon finished his speech, I could see tears welling up in the lads' eyes. One by one the lads said their speeches, some comments making us laugh.

After the speeches were done, Simon went back on stage. "Alright. One last thing. Louis, Zayn & Liam will you please come up here?" I started grinning like a crazy person. Niall nudged me and I just shrugged. I almost couldn't contain my happiness.

The three boys looked at each other then made their way back on stage. "I have a present for you three lads." Simon said. The three boys started grinning, "What is it?" Liam said.

"Come on out!" Simon said and the girls walked into the room. The three boys gasped and ran to their girlfriends. A chorus of "Hi baby" "Babe I missed you!" and "I thought you were away on work!" were heard through the room as well as clapping.

Niall nudged Lia and Harry nudged me, "Did you girls know about this?" they asked. Lia and I looked at each other and nodded, laughing. The two boys shook their heads.

Harry whispered something into Niall's ear and his eyes lighted up. Niall nods. "Wait here okay?" Niall told me. I looked at him confused but nodded. Harry and Niall went and got the other three lads, who were reluctant to leave but when Niall whispered something in Liam, Zayn and Lou's ear, they complied. The three taken lads whispered something into their girlfriend's ears before walking away.

The five boys were now on stage and I was curious as to WHY I had to stay in one spot. What if I had to go pee? Just pee on the spot? Or what if someone called me and it was an emergency? Okay I know I'm over exaggerating but I was curious to know what they were doing.

I looked at Lia, who had a huge grin on her face. I also noticed that all the girls had a huge grin on their face. Even Caitlyn! OMG THEY KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON! I nudged Lia, "Do you know what's going on?" I whispered furiously. She didn't answer. I gave up as the boys started talking.

"Alright, although this is our birthday party, we have a present for someone in the crowd." Harry said. I looked around wondering who the lucky person was. "Amanda! Come on up here!" Niall said. I was shocked. Me? Lia pushed me and I went to get on stage. "Yes?" I ask once I'm standing by the boys.

Zayn and Liam smirk at my expression. I probably look like a little kid in a candy shop whose parents just told them they could fill up a trash bag with candy. Yeah. That's how excited I was. I love presents! "Come on in!" Louis yelled and I heard a door close. I was blinded by the stage light and couldn't see who it was un- JOSH! I jumped off stage and ran towards him. Thank God I chose to wear flats!

"JOSH!" I yelled as I run towards him, jumping in his arms. "Hey baby girl. I missed you so much! Two weeks without seeing your beautiful face. Man it almost killed me." he told me in my ear. I was crying, tears of joy, and realized THIS is why Lia insisted I'd wear waterproof mascara. I made a mental note to thank her later.

I pulled back from the hug, "But we skyped." I told him. He laughed, "But babe, I can't do this over Skype!" he says and kisses me. I melt. God I love his kisses! Each time it feels like the first. I hope that feeling never ends. I smile into the kiss and wrap my arms around his neck, his arms wrap around my waist.

Then several people clear their throat behind us and we break away to see the whole gang there. "You guys are the best!" I told the lads giving them each a hug. I walk up to Lia and tell her thanks too for the waterproof mascara. She winks and drags Niall to the dance floor. The other lads grab their girls and follow Lia. I notice Caitlyn & Josh were looking at each other.

"Josh meet Caitlyn, Caitlyn meet Josh." I says introducing the two. Caitlyn has a sly look on her face but I wave it off. Josh tenses, and I notice. I nudge him, he looks at me and I give him a glare.

Josh holds out his hand for Caitlyn to shake. Caitlyn complies and shakes it. "Hello Josh, I'm Caitlyn. Miss me?" she asks. My head snaps up in her direction. I look at Caitlyn, and then Josh. What the hell? MISS ME?! Josh turns around and walks away. Dude! What the hell did I miss?! I follow Josh and I hear Caitlyn chuckling. I look over my shoulder to see her smirking at me. Does Caitlyn know Josh?

I catch up with Josh in the room that he had just come out of. "Josh. What the hell?! Do you know her?!" I ask. Josh nods. "You know her?" he asks me. I nod my head, "Yeah. She's a good friend of Lia and I." He starts shaking his head and mumbling something incoherent. "Josh. Josh! JOSH!" I try to get his attention. He looks at me, "What are you mumbling about?" I ask.

He sighs, "Remember that ex girlfriend I told you about? The one that was cheating on me with my best mate?" I nod. I remember her. He never told me her name or who the mate was.

"Yeah. What does that have to do with Caitlyn?" I ask. He chuckles, "Sometimes you can be so dense but I like you anyways." I cross my arms over my chest, "Oh jeez. Thanks." I say my voice dripping with sarcasm. He laughs. "Well?" I say.

"Caitlyn was that exgirlfriend." he says. Oh shit. Seriously?! I'm nervous to ask the next question. "Josh?" he looks back down at me, "Who was the best mate?" He looks away, hesitating and then back at me, "It was--" Josh is cut off by the One Direction boys barging in, grabbing Josh and dragging him away.

He looks back at me apologetically. I sigh and walk out of the room. Watching Josh get on stage with the lads, I have one question going through my mind:

Who the fuck is the best mate?

Josh's POV 

Shit. Caitlyn is friends with Amanda & Lia & the other girls? Oh God. This isn't going to turn out well. I wonder if he even recognizes her. I almost didn't. It wasn't until she said her name and then 'Miss me?' that I was sure it was her. I don't know if I can tell Amanda who the lad was.
