S U M M E R

Luke chest went up and down, I could feel the soft thump of his heartbeat through the thin material of his t-shirt. My hand was grazing over the bit of his stomach peaking out. I ran a finger over his happy trail and when I reached his belly button, traced the oval shape.

"That tickles." Luke sounds from above me with a soft laugh. "Can we sleep some more?" He grumbles and wraps me tighter in his arms.

This is all that I needed to make the rest of my day. Luke here with me. He pulls me deeper into his chest, the morning odor radiating from his body. I embrace the smell and hold onto him. "Thanks for coming by last night." I sigh.

I've been a mess since break had started and I know I should've texted Luke. He's the only one that can listen to me. I can't tell Katelyn, she always switches the topic back to her. Benji and I barely talk.

"I knew something was up." He kisses my forehead letting his lips linger. "You need to talk to me though, alright?"

I nod against him. "Yeah babe I know." I shrug and play with the hair on the back of his neck. "Thank you for letting me open up to you."

"Well your feeling better now right." Luke pulls away a bit to stare at me. I nod. He leans down and kisses the corner of my mouth. "As long as you feel better, it's okay."

"What do you want to do today?" I lean back into Luke's neck and place a soft kiss.

"Well we could cuddle, or we can go to Calum's, or we can walk around?Whatever you want."

"Let's go to Calum's. I want to hang out with your friends." I smile at the opportunity and roll out of bed and take the covers with me. "Get our of bed, let's go!"

It took a while, but I got Luke out of bed and we got ready. We walked down the street to Luke's and took his car to Calum's apartment. It was too cold to walk around. December was unusually breezy.

Calum's place was already unlocked and me and Luke walked in with held hands. Three boys lay in the living room, each holding a controller playing Mario Kart. They don't even flinch to look. We kick off our shoes and sick together in the bean bag. "Oh, hey Summer." Michael looks over at me and gives me a small wave.

"Hi Michael. How are you?" I ask smoothly as I curl up into Luke.

"M' good." He hums.

Luke nudges me and leans into my ear. "Are we dating? They're going to ask me and I don't want to say the wrong thing."

I look up at him and frown. I then turn back to the boys. "Hey dummy's, look over here." Once all of their heads are turned and their remotes are down, I turn to Luke grab his face and pull him in for a heated kiss. He's shocked at first but kisses me back using more tongue then usual, obviously trying to impress his friends. When I pull away from him I look back at his friends that are all staring agape.

"Me and Luke are together. He hasn't asked me properly yet, but we're together. Okay?" I give each of them a pointed look and they nod.

Ashton giggled. "I like you."

Calum nodded. "You're the best girl Luke's ever brought home." He smiles like a proud friend.

Luke coughs. "That wasn't my plan."

"Oh, we could tell." Calum shakes his head, smiling and turns away. They all go back to their games and Luke and I go back to cuddling in the bean bag. We snack on food and play around with the boys and we end up staying the night.

Luke's friends had something in common with Luke. They could make me happy. Made me feel safe. So far Luke Hemmings has only brought the good into my life.
