One of my favorite passages is Jesus' last letter to the lukewarm church in Revelation 3:14-22. He starts off by criticizing them for their behavior but by the end of the letter we see that he does it out of love, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent." Revelation 3:19 (NKJV). Even more encouraging is that he lets them know that he's waiting for them to return to him.
Personally, I haven't always cared about pursuing the Lord, but even while I ignored him and sought after what the world had to offer, he still patiently waited for me, standing at the door knocking till I finally decided to let him in. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." Revelation 3:20 (NKJV). God's Grace never gets old and is always something beautiful and touching to behold. This is what being a follower of Christ is all about.
