"You've been feeding it with that?" Owen was incredulous at the companies decision to use a crane in order to feed the Indominus. Claire didn't seem bothered, she even cocked an eyebrow at Owen as she placed a hand on her hip. "Is there something wrong with that?"

Aside from the fact it has had no human interaction so far; what else could be wrong with the Indominus? Surely it would be intensely aggressive and territorial, considering its own territory was the size of a playground rather than an actual habitat. Anyone would go insane. I was lucky I hadn't.

"Animals raised in isolation aren't usually the most functional," Owen mumbled, and I could feel his eyes on me. I was on the other end of the proverbial spectrum though; sure, I had a short temper, but at least I wasn't a psychopath. "And? Your raptors were born in captivity,"

Claire tried to use the girls as an excuse, but I cut in before Owen could attempt to twist her words into something positive again. "My girls were raised with siblings. They learned social skills. Me and Owen imprinted on them, acted as parental figures."

I caught the scowl adorning her perfectly shaped lips, albeit brief as it was, I still wanted to wipe it right off. "So she needs a friend." Claire attempted to joke, but I brushed her off, coming to stand by Owen's side as she tapped on the glass again, impatiently awaiting the Indominus.

"They can't be serious, can they?" I murmured, Owen leaning down slightly in order to hear me better. "Without siblings, relationships, that thing is going to be a lethal killing machine."

Owen hummed his agreement, and I felt his hand curl around my waist, pulling me closer to him. "Creating dinosaurs is one thing. Creating monsters is a whole different ball game. And you and I are fielders."

Just waiting to get eaten. Claire cleared her throat, causing me to step away from Owen. We were still on professional grounds after all. No doubt Owen would get another strike on his record for public misbehaviour. "Where is it??"

Claire's frustrated tone brought a faint smirk to my lips, mainly because I couldn't stand her, and also because seeing her like this was a nice change of pace. "Maybe it's in the basement. Or perhaps the rec room." Owen joked, nudging me with his elbow for a reaction.

It didn't take long for the giggle to bubble from my lips at his humour, Claire sighing in frustration. "It was just here, we were just here," She turned away from the glass, focusing on the security guard sitting at the security station in the corner of the viewing platform. "Run a thermal scan." The guard, a large man previously entirely focused on his sandwich, did as she said within seconds.

My nerves were becoming increasingly frayed, waiting for the large dino to appear. Alarm bells rang inside my head as warnings appeared on the CCTV screens, each quadrant bringing up squat. "That doesn't make sense-" The security guard shoved the rest of his sandwich into his mouth before swivelling his chair to face the window. "Those doors haven't been opened in weeks."

As I peered into the enclosure once more, sweeping the dense foliage for any sign of the missing dinosaur, I took notice of the damaged wall opposite the viewing platform. Lightly brushing my fingers against Owen's, his attention was quickly on me. "What's wrong?" Rather than verbally worrying Claire, I nodded towards the wall of the enclosure.

It appeared to be clawed as if the Indominus had attempted to climb out. And judging by its lack of appearance, I'd say it was successful. "Were those claw marks always there?" I whispered the question to Owen, shifting closer until my arm was partially pressed against his. Knowing he was there helped to calm my nerves.
