I know I have to attend the audition after waiting for so many years. I can't just let her ruin my dreams. Maybe I really need to sacrifice all I have.
"So did you tell her already?" Xyler asked. "Same thing. She beat me again" I looked down trying to avoid eye contact. "Omo, are you okay?!" She grabbed my right wrist.Ouch. I flinched a bit. I didn't want anyone to know so I decided to wear a jacket today.
She pushed my sleeve upwards revealing a bruise. She look at me with horror. "A-ah it's nothing. I'm fine" I pushed it downwards and tried giving her a smile.
"Yah,how can you be okay, look at you. That bruise isn't small and of course there are others, I bet they are even worse" she said "It's just a small thing,Xyler. I think there are going to be more beatings because I'm still attending audition" she sighed. "Arasso,lets go to class" I told her
[The day before audition]
"Yah Alex" I called her "wae?" She asked me "I kinda bought the plane ticket already and uhh, about the audition, I don't know what will happen but I have to attend. what do I do?" I asked her.
"I really don't know what to do since your parents are like that-" I cut her off " can I ask you a favour" I asked her "sure what is it" she looked at me "umm, If I need help can you like help me" I asked her in a soft tone.
"Of course! Why wouldn't I help you. Just come to me if you need anything" she agreed. "Omg thank you, you are the best friend anyone can ever have" I hugged her tightly burying my face in the crook of her neck.
[That night]
I packed my clothes and walk towards her room. I knocked on her door. The door opened revealing my mom holding folded clothes in her left hand "what is it?" She asked. "Mom, I know I have been a naughty child but I really need to go-" she cut me off "where?" She asked in a strict tone.
"Mom, I need to go to the adition no matter what" I said with all my courage. "I thought we are not talking about that anymore. What have been decided, have been decided no changes" she said "Mom after waiting for all these years, finally I have a chance, I need to do this. I promise after the audition I'll fly back right on the day and be a good child" I try to convince her
"I said no!" She shouted "Mom, I really really need to do this" she slapped me hard. This time, I'm not letting her do this to me. Harley you can do this. There's nothing to be afraid of.
"Mom, if you are not letting me do this, then I'll do it on my own. I'm not letting you do this to me. I need to do what I have to" i told her.She took a plastic hanger and beat me. I snatched it from her and break it. Threw it in front of her.
"Mom, you see this if you are not letting me do this, I'll never come back!" I shouted "Then get out of this house and never come back! I don't want to see you again!" She shouted back.
"Okay watch me leave then" I opened he door of my room. Grabbed all my things and walk out from te house. The moment I stepped out from the house, I knew there's no turning back. So I just continued walking. "Great now I have no where to stay" I mumbled to myself. The first thought that came to my mind was Alex.
As I walk down the street, memories of how my parents hurt me kept popping in my mind. Tears streamed down my face. "You are going to be fine" I told myself.
