ELLE DAVIES HAD A BONE TO PICK.

Whoever in Merlin's name had decided that she was the student to schedule for an eight a.m Potions lesson with half the Gryffindor class seriously deserved a shoe up their ass.

"At least we suffer together!" Gwen Cadwallader  said perseveringly from beside the Davies girl, who had resorted to a permanent look of utter despair the moment she'd received her schedule an hour prior.

Gwen, too, ailed from Holyhead, where Elle had grown up. Her mother was a beater on the Holyhead Harpies and was the main reason Elle's passion for Quidditch had been sparked. The two girls had been inseparable, as Elle's home was only a mile from the Harpies practice arena.

Elle loved Gwen, she truly did, but never before had she wanted to punch someone so badly. Stifling a groan, Elle simply looked to the ceiling with emphasized grief as she and the Hufflepuff girl made their journey towards the depths of hell — otherwise known as the dungeons.

Her morning had been fantastic. She'd woken early (with a full eight hours of sleep), tucked her hair into a neat half-up, half-down braid, and had nearly jumped for joy when she'd found that breakfast included pumpkin waffles with maple syrup. She'd felt as though nothing could have put a pin in her unbridled joy, until Professor McGonagall had handed her a schedule with an eight a.m fucking potions lecture.

Professor Snape was Elle's arch nemesis — not that he knew it. His attentions were far too busy bullying any Gryffindor with a pulse to notice the piercing glare Elle pinned him with any time she crossed his path. It had all started on her first day of her first year.
