hi shister !
the chemical formula is pretty easy, and is mostly review fo' u. but, we love an educated queen so...
•the elements in a compound are referred to by their chemical symbols ( duh ! )
subscript vs. coefficients
-while subscript only affects one element, coefficients affect the whole damn thing.
SO, if we have 4OH, then we have 4 oxygen and 4 hydrogen.
BUT, if we have OH ₄, then we have 1 oxygen and 4 hydrogen.
If we had 2CO ₂, then we have 2 carbon and 4 oxygen. (:
You can change coefficients but not subscripts in an equation.
