Now Playing: Counting Star: OneRepublic

Dreaming 'bout the things that we could be

Baby, I've been, I been prayin' hard

Said no more counting dollars

We'll be counting stars

Tony wasn't wrong when he said the vacuum would want to suck her out into space.

Iris yelped when the door opened; Tony had to grab her shoulder and pull her down. "F.R.I.D.A.Y. start the timer." In the top right corner of her mask, Iris saw the numbers '3:00' change to '2:59'.

Stark let go of her shoulder and stood up from his crouching position. Iris heard his voice crackle in her ears.

"We got to get there A.S.A.P."

"Right you are, Tin Man." The magnetization on her boots deactivated (courtesy of F.R.I.D.A.Y.) and boosters replaced them. Stark led the way, flying out of the chamber first with Iris close behind.

Iris looked over her shoulder to see the door sealed again.

Stark flew as close to the ship's surface as he could, his boots leaving behind a thin, blue trail that vanished seconds later. Iris tried to not look at the ships surrounding them or the empty space filled with stars and lord knows what else.

It looked like something out of a science-fiction movie, like Star Wars or Interstellar. The stars, tiny pinpricks of light in the blanket of blackness, looked like paint splatters on a canvas. Galaxies surrounded them, throwing in colors that didn't look real.

The golden ships mimicked hawks, Iris thought at any moment, they might swoop down and shoot her and Stark down. But they remained still, surround the ship like an impenetrable wall, though she knew that wasn't quite true.

The clock ticked down to '2:43'.

"You know, once you get over the complete absurdity of it, space looks pretty darn cool."

"That's what you're concerned about right now? You wanna stop and take a selfie? Put it in a scrapbook?"

"Just trying to cut the tension Stark."

"You're doing great."

"Was that sarcasm?"

"When am I not sarcastic?"

"Too true." Tony stopped an hovered in midair, lowering himself to the surface of the metal, "We're here." Iris followed his actions, feeling the magnetization on her boots click in.

"Holy shit." The scene before her was nothing short of destruction. The damage point, as Stark had described it, was more like a damage field. The twisted and burnt scraps of the original plated bent over fried wires and gears. Smoke dissipated in all directions into the non-existent air around them.

It was in the shape of a rough circle, ten feet wide, and Iris didn't know how they were going to fix this in time.

Tony was already down on his knees, cutting through wires and pulling out components beyond the point of repair.

"How the hell are you planning on fix this in time? It's huge."

"This suit is Nano-tech, it's how I repaired the hole in the ship." Iris nodded.

"What do you need my help with then?" Tony didn't even look up from the machine.

"The old metal plating needs to go, get those out of here and I can start fixing what I need to." She nodded and shuffled over to the nearest hunk of burnt metal.
