There is so much to say that I think the only way to do this is to start at the beginning with the first songs Zarry wrote about each other and work my way through them all. It's a long process, so sorry!
What are the Zarry songs? Here's the list I have made; feel free to disagree and tell me I've missed something out! I think they kick off around 2012/2013 when Zarry started to be obsessed with each other - flirting on tour and at some point, I believe, becoming lovers. Zarry Documentaries / Bob Dylan has actually said that Zarry began much earlier, in 2011, and she / he is usually right, but I think the first song that makes my Zarry radar ping is Story of My Life which was released in late 2013, so probably written in early to mid 2013. I plan to devote a chapter to each song. I'll also analyse the videos where I think they are important.
So here goes:
1. Story of My Life - this is a bit of a long shot on my part but it was co-written by several band members and others but I really believe Harry must have had input into a lot of the lyrics - which seem to reference himself - and Zarry.
2. You and I - again, this is a controversial choice by me as it wasn't written by H or Z. However, it was written by 1D's regular songwriters and I think it refers to something that they knew was going on in the band. Also, I believe this song (and its video) goes on to have huge significance for Zarry later.
3. There is an argument that Right Now and Something Great from the Midnight Memories album also reference Zarry - they were both co-written by Harry but no other members of the band were involved. However the lyrics are quite folk-pop-generic and I'm not going to comment on them.
4. Hugely important, this one: Just a Little Bit of Your Heart, written by Harry and given to Ariana Grande in August 2013. It's interesting to note that Harry's most emotional, confessional songs at this time were written away from the band.
5. Someday Maybe, co-written by Harry with Meghan Trainor. Again, this is a song about longing, which appears to be inspired by Zarry.
6. There are other songs which Harry collaborated on with bands such as Alex and Sierra and Kodaline which do seem to chime with Zarry but I'm not going to analyse them, as they seem relatively straightforward/ uncoded. Feel free to disagree!
7. I believe Where Do Broken Hearts Go (written by Harry in 2014 or earlier and released on the album Four in late 2014) is about the Zarry break-up which took place before or around the time of the Zerrie engagement; however, it is also lyrically quite straightforward. It just describes someone regretting a break-up and using the pronoun "you". So I'm not going to analyse it.
8. Stockholm Syndrome, released 2014 as part of Four. A definite Zarry song, as I will explain.
9. I Won't Mind - Zayn's song leaked in 2015 but probably written in 2014 as a demo. This song marks the start of the era of the really serious and intense Zarry lyrics.
10. If I Could Fly - from the album Made in the A.M. (released November 2015) A hugely important Zarry song, which Harry wrote just after Zayn left the band.
11. Olivia, from the same album, was also written by Harry and talks about longing for a lover who is leaving. It is probably about Zayn.
12. Walking in the Wind - also from Made in the A.M. - another hugely important Zarry song both lyrically and symbolically, it was co-written by Harry but no other member of the band contributed to the writing.
13. Zayn's solo work - pretty much all of it!!!
14. Harry's solo work - I believe most (but not all) of Harry's songs have a Zarry meaning in them.
By the end of this you will be convinced, if not that Z and H are or were romantically involved, then at, at the very least, that they are obsessed with each other!
