Aja
December 25thSomething was buzzing near me. I tried to ignore it but Janet mumbled into my chest. "If it's mines, hit decline. If it's yours, do whatever. Just shut it up."
Chuckling, I slightly moved her off of me as I went on a search for the sound I was hearing.
My legs were kind of numb from Janet getting her rounds in before I got mines in last night.
I tuned in to my sweat pants on the ground vibrating with my phone and I grabbed it. I saw that it was my sister calling.
Answering the phone, I stepped into J's bathroom.
"Merry Christmas, big sister." Miya, my youngest sister, greeted. "Mom says dinner at her place. If you wanna come. You don't have to."
"Merry Christmas, baby sister. Are you going?"
"Yeah."
"Then count me in." I responded lightly. "Give me a hour or two and then I'll be there."
"Kaysies. I'll tell momma." Miya replied and it sounded like she was smiling. The line disconnected.
Miya was a hard person to catch up with, and I knew my father told me to make things right with her. So I was going to do just that. I'd make him proud, that was my goal, and my sister was just another obstacle to doing that.
I walked back into the room and saw that Janet was still in bed sleep. Shaking my head, I climbed back into bed and began kissing all over her face.
When I pecked her lips a few times, she started kissing back. Her eyes fluttered open. "I have to go home and shower, and then head to my moms."
"A few more minutes." She mumbled as she pulled me down into her.
I laughed. "Woman, let me go. I told Miya that I would celebrate Christmas with her and momma. Probably Chanel as well."
Janet nodded. "That's good."
She let me go and I studied how her demeanor changed. "What are you doing today?"
"Staying in this house."
"No you aren't." I frowned. "It's Christmas. Come on, you aren't going to your parents?"
"Nope." She popped the 'p'.
"Why not?"
"Because." Janet began as she sat up. "They are judge-mental and I know they saw those pictures and I wanna have a good Christmas. So I'd rather take my chances celebrating alone than hear their comments."
My face furrowed. "They won't be okay with you being gay will they?"
She looked at me before slowly shaking her head and sighing. "No, and too be completely honest, I don't care about it. I'm staying in this house and living my life."
"No. You aren't." I disagreed. "You're gonna come with me."
"I am not about to just pop up at your mothers for the holidays."
"My mom loves you. So does Chanel. Come on baby, I don't wanna leave you here alone. Please come, for me?" My lip stuck out as I displayed my best pout.
At first Janet wouldn't look at me because she and I both knew that my pout is what always got me my way. When she did look up at me, she sighed. "Fine, let me shower and then we can go to your place."
