Weeks later

Marshall's P.O.V.

I was looking in the mirror at myself. Checking myself out. Damn, I looked good. I always do. This wasn't new. Kidding.

I threw whatever clothes on. I mean, dudes don't really dress up when going to parties. I just wore my casual stuff. Maybe to change things up a bit, I added this gray beanie. That was it. I was ready now, all for Brittany's friend Susan's birthday party which was going on tonight.

Proof agreed that he would go, and that I'd happen to meet him there. The same with Brit. We'd all meet up when the start of the party was.

It was still early now. I was doing absolutely nothing. It wasn't until another couple hours when people would start heading over. But man, I was bored out of my mind now. And everyone else was doing their own things until then. After pacing around my place endlessly, I decided that I might just go there early and be one of the first to show up, I guess. It wouldn't hurt.

And that's what ended up happening.

I drove over and parked outside of the complex Sue's place was at. The sun was still out and I knew that was an indication it was still fucking too early for me. God damn. Whatever.

I grabbed the small present I wrapped for Sue from the passenger seat and exited my ride, walking across the lot with my hands in my pockets. Remembering the address number I got from Brittany the other day, I finally found it after searching for it for not too long.

I gave the door I was in front of a light knock. After a few seconds, I heard it unlock, revealing Sue's face. She looked surprised and happy to see me.

She greeted me kindly. "Hey! Great you made it. Come in," she smiled sweetly at me, moving aside to invite me in.

I smiled at her warmly, thanking her. I slipped past her as I made my way in, noting the place around me. I noticed there were a few others (probably Sue's closest friends) who were here already, just chilling around. The place was definitely set up, though. Some food was set up everywhere, alcohol and shit, and it looked pretty dope all around.

I turned back to face Susan quickly before getting myself settled, meaning to do something. I took notice of her appearance for a moment. Something looked different about her, which I think was her hair. She must've dyed it recent. It was lighter than the darker brunette it was before, now being a dirty blonde kind of color. She was wearing some casual, comfortable-looking halter dress or something. I think not her party dress, yet. And, I don't know, she was looking attractive. Susan was just one of those naturally pretty girls, you could call it. And right now... she looked good.

Hold up, what was I saying?

Before she was about to dash away, I finally decided to speak up, holding out my arm to stop her; the one holding the present. "Aye, here! Happy Birthday."

Her eyes widened as she stood there frozen by me. "You got me something?"

I smiled at her. "It would've been rude not to." She was protesting what I said, going to take the poorly-wrapped present out from my hands as she hesitated on whether or not she should open it right away. I answered that for her. "You can go ahead. I think it'd fit with the party great. You're turning twenty-one, right?" I made sure.

"Yep," she confirmed then laughed, going to tear the wrapping paper off. After doing so, eyes set on the opened gift, she cried my name out in glee. "Marshall," she said, observing the glow-in-the-dark shot glasses gift set. Yeah, something I picked up at the store. "This is incredible. Glow-in-the-dark, too? Wow. This will definitely come in handy tonight," she giggled. "Thank you. You know you didn't have to."
