Halloween

Finally, after being released from the hospital, it was my first day of school. I was really excited to go back, plus Lucas and Dustin had no idea that I was awake yet. I wanted to surprise them.

When I arrived on my bike, I saw the party standing outside. I smiled. I slowly put my bike in the rack and came up behind Dustin. Lucas had turned around and saw me at just the right time, his eyes widening and a smile spreading on his face.

"What are you looking at, Lucas," Dustin asked.

I put my hands over Dustin's eyes. "Guess who."

"Oh my God." He turned around and faced me. "Y/N!" He hugged me as tight as he could. "You're awake."

"Yes I am. Very awake, and just in time for Halloween too."

"You're dressing up? Since when?" He pulled away and looked me up and down. "Since when do you wear stuff like this?"

I was wearing a light blue dress with black leggings. "Since I woke up. I've been really... bright lately. I am really happy and I'm trying to be more social. Don't think, though, that this means I will be any less protective now. I will be the same overprotective person that you have always known. Same overprotective sister, and now overprotective girlfriend."

"Girlfriend? Wait, are you and Mike..." I nodded. "Nice. You ready for your first day back?"

"More than ready. By the way, the new teeth look great." His two front teeth grew in. "Let's go."

As I walked with the boys, I received many confused stares. As far as most people knew, I was in a coma still. I stopped with Will by his locker. When he opened it, he took out a piece of paper.

"Will, what's that?"

He shook his head. "Nothing."

I snatched the paper from his hands and looked at it. It was an article about how Will was alive with the words "Zombie Boy" written on it. "Will, are people calling you this?"

He looked down. "Yeah."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want you to worry. You've only been awake a couple of days, and you don't need this kind of stress."

I put my hand on his chin and made him look up at me. It was odd how, despite the fact that he's older by 45 minutes, I'm a bit taller than him. "Will, nothing is more important than you. Not Mike, Jonathan, Dustin, mom, Lucas, Nancy, or even Steve. You are my top priority."

"What about dad?"

"He can go fuck himself. He doesn't deserve to be mentioned. The point is, I will help you with every problem you need help with. Bullies, girls, friends, math." He laughed. "Like I said. You are my top priority. I already explained to Mike that nobody comes above you, and he understands. If anyone messes with you, tell me. I will help."

He gave me a half smile. "Y'know, despite the fact that you just woke up, you're just as strong and protective as ever."

"I know."

Time Skip

I stood next to Will as mom and Jonathan took pictures. We were having so much fun. Since my hair grew out, I curled it and came up with a quick Dana costume to go with Mike's Vankman costume.

"You guys look great," Jonathan stated with a smile. "You should probably get going though. Don't wanna be late for school."

"Alright, Jonathan. Love you." I replied.

"Love you too."

Jonathan's POV

I watched as my little brother and sister left for school in their costumes. My sister has been different since she woke up, happier. I don't know if it's the fact that she has Mike now, or that Will's back, but I was happy. She was happy. We all were happy. It was nice.

Time Skip

I parked and turned off the car. They really weren't happy that I was taking them Trick or Treating.

"Look, I'll let you guys go on your own as long as you stay in the neighborhood. Got it?" Their faces lit up. "Have fun. Be back here at 9:00. I hope it doesn't suck." I said, quoting mom's boyfriend, Bob.

They laughed and got out of the car.

Y/N's POV

Will and I ran over to Lucas, Dustin, and Mike. I came up behind Mike, grabbing his hand. He jumped a little before looking at me and smiling.

"Hey." His smile was so adorable.

"Hi. Ready?"

"Yeah. Did I tell you how beautiful you look?"

I blushed. "No, but thank you. You look very handsome yourself."

"Get a room you two," Lucas exclaimed.

"No, no, no. Bob and mom would love to see this," Will stated as he held Bob's camera up to us. "Tell me, Y/N, what is it like to be dating one of your brother's friends?"

I shook my head. "I don't know what you expect me to say. It's fine."

"How about you, Mike? What's it like to be dating my sister?"

"It's great, Will. Now, please, get that thing out of my face," Mike replied. "As for you, Y/N, I have something for you." He held out a small paper origami box.

"For me? Why?"

"Think of it as a gift for waking up. Go ahead. Open it." I took the top off and there was a heart shaped locket on a little silver chain. "I found it at a yard sale."

I opened the locket and there were two pictures in it. One of mine and his families, and one of him and Will. "Mike, this is beautiful. Thank you."

Time Skip

It had grown dark, as did Mike's mood when another girl joined us. Her name was Max, she was new. Mike didn't really like her, I didn't really care if she was there. As we made our way to the next house, everyone went ahead of Will and I. Suddenly, two kids came out of nowhere and called Will "Zombie Boy."

"Beat it, assholes." They pushed Will down, then I pushed them away. "Creeps." I watched as Will got up, but something was wrong. He was scared. "Will, are you alright?" I put a hand on his shoulder. "What the fuck?" I screeched as I fell backward. It was like I had been transported somewhere.

"Y/N? Where's Mike?"

I looked up at Will in confusion and fear. "The real question is: where are we?"

"How? Nobody else can see my episodes."

"What do you me-"

"Run!" I saw what he saw. Some weird creature was looming above us. I took his hand and started running. We hid behind a house, holding on to each other as if our lives depended on it. I closed my eyes as tight as I could.

"Y/N? Will? What's wrong?" I opened my eyes and saw Mike kneeling in front of us. "I couldn't find you guys. Are you okay?" I buried my face in Mike's chest, my breathing beginning to slow down. "Calm down. Let's get you guys back to my house, okay?" I nodded.

"Dude, is everything okay," I heard Lucas ask.

"We're fine. I'm taking them back to my house, you guys keep Trick or Treating."
