“What are you doing here?”
I exclaimed surprised to see him standing afar across the street waving his hand at me.
“Is that your favourite question? You ask me the same thing every time.” he quipped on hearing me.
“Why are you here?”
I rephrased the question although it meant the same thing.
“Can you please come down here? I want to talk to you.”
He asked me after a pause.
“We don’t have anything to talk about.”
I replied watching him from the window. He was standing there, his body silhouetted against the street light.
“Ava.”
“I am sorry but I am not coming downstairs. So, please go back.”
I disconnected the call before he could say anything else. I had made up my mind.
Throwing the phone on the bed, I sat down on the couch covering my face with both my hands. You are doing the right thing. I told myself. It’s the best if both of us stayed away from each other. More than that, he should stay away from me. I had already hurt Daniel. He will only get hurt getting close to a girl like me. I can never let that happen.
“Ava.”
“Ava.”
Someone was calling aloud my name from across the street. I quickly went back to the window to find him still standing at the same spot. He didn’t go back. I was furiously waving my hand signalling him to stop calling my name. Is he planning to wake up the whole neighbourhood? I went back to find my phone on the bed and hurriedly redial his number.
“Pick up the phone…please pick up the phone.”
I was mumbling to myself waiting for the call to connect. He didn’t pick it up. Instead he continued calling out my name. By then, I could see the lights of few adjoining apartments flicking on. There was only one thing left to do for stopping him. Grabbing the apartment keys, I dashed out of the apartment and sprinted two flights of stairs to reach the ground floor.

I ran across the lawn towards the street to find him standing there waiting for me.
“Are you crazy?”
I exclaimed on reaching the spot.
“You left me no choice.”
He replied watching me catch my breath.
“Fine. What is it?”
I asked folding my arms in front. I will just listen to what he has to say and then go back.
“You have to come with me to a place.”
He replied as I looked at him confused.
“What? I thought you wanted to talk.”
He didn’t mention about it when he spoke to me on the phone.
“We can talk when we reach the place.”
He answered with a sigh.
“I am not going anywhere with you in the middle of the night,” I protested.
“Hi.”
A cheerful voice greeted me from behind. I didn’t notice that there was a limo parked nearby. Tae was smiling at me, stepping out of the limo.
