Came summer.. My school along with 20 other schools in the San Bernardino area signed up all the incoming 8th grade athletes to this 2 week athletic summer camp. I decide to go so I get there and I check in and get to my room and there's my partner on the bed...a guy. I assumed that was a mistake so me being a child I go and snitch... that did shit I ended up being stuck with him anyway. The first night we both did not speak to each other but the second night he introduced himself, "Hi I'm Melo" he said. "I'm Kai" I said. That night we stayed up playing monopoly and joking all night like typical 12 year olds. We became very close after the 1st week. He told me about his life and family and I told him about mine. We were always laughing, staying up super late then being tired the next day only to bullshit the activities. When the 2 weeks were up I still came over to his house and played with his brothers and friends and he came to my house. We had sleep overs and birthday party's and so much more. We were inseparable, He became my best friend.
