Reader's Pov:

I followed Levi to the room my father was held in, which was the infirmary we had here in the castle.

I was about to place my hand on the doorknob, but I pulled my hand away at the last second. "Princess? The King is in there waiting for your arrival." Levi reminded me.

I shut my eyes and sighed. "I know. I have a feeling what's coming up.." I turn to face him and faked a smile. "I apologize in advance."

His eyes widened, and before he could respond to me, I turn back around and opened the door.

My father's eyes found mine and his gaze hardened at the sight of me. I feel my breath get stuck in my throat, ready for his lecture.

"This is the 5th time this month the palace has been under attack because of your awaiting hand in marriage. I will not wait any longer. By the time this week is up I want you to have found someone." He said.

"Are you kidding me? It'll take me another month to get through the paperwork! I don't like any of the ones I've went through so far, so it'll be nearly impossible for me to choose one!" I protested.

"Then we'll hold a ball." He casually states. "A ball? For my hand in marriage? Honestly, you must be thinking about yourself at this point! Do you not care about my love life? What happens if I don't end up with someone I'm happy with?! I will not attend to your stupid ball!"

Levi's Pov:

After the argument between the King and Princess, she had stormed out of the room. I look over at the King and he sighed.

"I'm not sure how much more I can take of this. Levi, please convince my daughter about the ball." He said. "I'm sorry Your Majesty, but I have to disobey."

He looked at me with wide eyes. "The Princess is not happy with your decision, and you are no longer in charge of my orders, she is. If she is not happy with the ball, then I'm not either."

I turned around and took a couple steps before he spoke up. "You...have feelings for my daughter, don't you?"

"Tch. I never said anything along those lines. Don't make a fool of yourself, Your Majesty." I retorted.

"Well, if you do, remember, if she chooses you as her partner, you'll have to give up your position and rule the kingdom as King."

I walked out of the room without another word.

Reader's Pov:

"Well, most princesses' hands in marriage are decided by a ball.." Hanji reminded me.

I was sitting in my father's throne with my legs crossed. I had ranted to Hanji about what had happened, and she was trying to be supportive as well as reasonable.

"I understand that, but I'm going to rule one of the major countries here. I'm not one of those princesses...I want to spend my rest of my life ruling Zethana with the one I love. Not just some random nobleman decided by a ball." I said.

Suddenly, a smirk appeared on Hanji's face. I gave her a skeptical look. "What's with your face?"

"Do you like Levi?"

"Hah?!" I yelped out at her question, nearly falling out of the throne. She busted out laughing, wiping a couple tears in the process.

"Ugh, you're just making things worse. You're dismissed, Hanji." I said, waving her off as a I lean back in the throne.

She grinned and waved goodbye before taking off for her lab. I sighed as I brought my knees up to my chest. Do I...really?

"Princess (Y/n)." I snapped out of my thoughts and saw Levi bowing to me. I felt my face heat up, which caused my eyes to widen and for me to bring my knees closer to my face. What the hell is this?

"You're not here to convince me to attend the ball under my father's orders, are you? I know he has you as a double agent type of person, you know." I said.

"I've abandoned that job. For now on, I'm only following your orders only." He looked up and smirked at me. "And get this; your father asked me to convince you to go to that stupid ball, but I said no."

My eyes widened even more as I put my legs down along with my arms on the arm rests. "No way.." "Yep. He's probably pretty pissed at me by now." He said.

Without thinking, I jumped out of the throne and pulled Levi into a hug. "Wha-" "Thank you...for everything."
