Chapter 10 - Decision

Reader's Pov

Eren and I were doing some reading at my desk the next day when there was a knock on the door. Levi goes and answers it, only to be greeted by my father.

He must be here about my decision about the next King...

"I assume you know what I am here for." Dad spoke up. I sighed as I closed my book. "Yes, come in. Levi, have some free time. We must have this discussion alone." I ordered.

He looked at me with surprise, but I gave him a stern glare. He gives in and bows before leaving.

Dad sits in the chair next to Eren. "So, who have you decided on? I saw that you rarely danced last night." Dad pointed out.

"Yes, because I've had this man in my mind for a couple of days now. I wanted to be sure about my decision because I'm pretty sure of his." I replied.

Dad's eyes widened. "You didn't speak of this man to me." He said. "Well, she just said she wanted to be completely sure.." Eren pointed out.

I shake my head. "It doesn't matter now. I know who I want to be by my side, but I know he wouldn't give up his life for it." "Well, who is it?" Dad asked.

I bit my bottom lip as tears escaped my eyes. It hurt to know that he wouldn't want to help me rule. "Levi. I'm in love with my guard..."

*Timeskip*

I was out on my balcony after calming down from my breakdown. Dad left me with the responsibility to telling him. The question is...how does one tell another that they love them, and they want them to change their life just to be with them? That's impossible!

"I just can't do that!" I said to myself.

"Can't do what, Your Highness?"

My eyes widened as I heard the familiar deep, loyal voice I've grown to love. I turn around to face Levi and faked a smile. "Oh, it's nothing. You know how it is, I have to tell someone to give up their life to be king." I said.

He hummed. "Well, some men are more than happy to do that. Maybe the man you want to choose will be one of those men." He said. I snorted. "I doubt it."

He sprayed me with a water bottle. "Ah! What the heck, Levi?! I'm the Royal one here! And where did you get a water bottle?!"

"I was cleaning your bathroom, so this is Windex. But that was for being unlady like." He scolded me. "W-what? WHAT?"

I heard Eren laughing from the gardens. "Ohh! He told you!" "OH SHUT UP, EREN!"

I shake my head before sighing. "Listen, Levi. There's something I need to talk to you about.."
