and yet, there are people now in chains.

and yet, there are brothers and sisters who are bound not just by their wrists, but by their skin.

and yet, there is blood is being spilled.

the homeland is weeping; its soil is burning and the sun is shining on a land that is grieving for the loss of its people.

the boats that carry them away are heavy with the stench of death and decay.

some jump the ships to avoid what's to come. others aren't as lucky.

the preacher turns the page. a whisper of thirteen falls from his lips,

and the true betrayer of christ reveals himself.
