When I woke up the next morning after going straight to bed the night before after Barb dropped me off. I looked at my work list and started putting the finishing touches on the two orders I had already gotten halfway done on before my little three-four night away at Wayne Manor and Barbs apartment.
I then pulled out the special revolver, functioning one I might add that I would dabble with in between jobs, that I was in the process of making for Barbara as a back up weapon or a home security one.
I finished it in three days. All three guns. The orders, and the special one I was working on for Barbara. Over the next couple weeks. Barb trained me, taught me every trick and move the Bat Family has. We even went out on patrols every night. I made sure I left my guns behind. I learned to use my fists and feet more than my guns. It wasn't until close to the end of the month did I finally learn to curb the killer in me.

All that time. Me and Barbara got closer and closer. But once my bandana went up and her cowl came down. We were business as usual. Kicking ass, and looking good together while doing it. The Gotham Chronicle once had a headline with a picture of me and Barbara as the Shootist and Batgirl. Standing over a bunch of unconscious criminals. The headline read, 'Crime Has New Duo To Fear In Batgirl And The Shootist.'
I didn't mind the lime light. But I never let it go to my head. Because as long as the citizens of Rigby were able to sleep and walk down the street with an easy mind I was happy. Now I'm in Gotham and I see kids run around with wooden pistols, bandanas on and any jacket they had pretending to be me.

On night when me and Barbara had a dinner with Jim Gordon. I decided to ask him for something as Barbara went to the ladies room.
"Jim."
"Yes, Daniel." Jim smiled.
"I was wondering if I can ask you something?"
"Daniel, your dating my daughter and the guns you've fixed and made for the force are working perfectly. Not to mention I've had a big load off my mind when you started dating her. She's happier, she seems content and I can't thank you enough for making her that way. I know she'll always be safe with you."
"I'm glad you said that because I wanted to ask you for your permission to ask Barbara to marry me?"
"Well, I'd be very proud to have you as a son in law. So I give you permission, my boy." He grinned as he patted me on the back. "It's not that often that old fashioned boys like you pop up."
When Barbara came back we finished the dinner and me and her went to her apartment as Jim headed back to his office.

(Barbara's POV)
I could tell that Daniel was nervous about something. So I went to the restroom to change into some lounge clothing but he said, "Barbara."
"Yeah."
"I got a big question I want to ask you. Could you come out here for a moment?" I pulled off my stockings and walked out into my apartments living room.
"What's up?" I found Daniel on one knee. Holding a rectangular black box in his hand. I approached him. "What's this?" I asked as I gently took the box from him.
"Part one of a two part gift."
I opened it and found a revolver with our initials surrounded by a heart on the handle. "Oh, Daniel. It's beautiful."
"Another thing is that it only fires tranquilizer rounds. Non-lethal."
"I love it." I said closing the box.
"Not as much. As this." He pulled a small red box from his pocket. I placed a hand to my mouth after putting the rectangular box on the coffee table. "I've been over and over this and after getting your dads permission to do so. I can finally make the big leap. Barbara Gordon." He opened the box exposing a beautiful 50 karat white gold diamond ring. "Will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes. Of course I will." He put the ring on my finger  and stood up and I jumped into his arms.
"You thought it was going to be just the gun didn't you."
"No. I just wasn't expecting this." I smiled as I looked at the ring as I held onto him.
"Well I'm glad you like both of them."
"Oh. But you didn't have to get me a ring like this."
"Your very important to me Barb."
"I know that. But you could have gotten a cheapo ring from a cracker jack box and I'd take it with the same enthusiasm."
"Noted." He smiled. "I love you, Barb."
"I love you too, Peacemaker." I kissed him and after I let him go I went into the restroom to finish changing. Once I was finished I walked out to the living room and found Daniel sitting on the sofa. "You staying the night?"
"I was hoping to."
I grinned and leaned against the door jam leading into the hallway. "Come here. And give your future bride a proper kiss and we can go to bed."
"Yes ma'am." He got up and approached me and leaned in and kissed me. I held him in place with my hands holding the back of his neck. After a moment or two. He pulled away and said, "I'm going to get changed for bed."
"I'll be waiting." I smiled as he kissed me once more. He changed into a spare pair of sleep attire and joined me in bed. We held each other and as we slowly slipped into our slumbers. Daniel took off his glasses and put them on the nightstand on his side and wrapped his arms around me as I rested my head on  his chest and we both fell asleep.
