Missing You

I've said it before but I miss you again.

I miss the way I saw you then.

You're two feet away but it feels like a mile.

I wish I could see your smile.

I ask you a question and you avoid my eyes.

Your subtle neglect is my sudden demise.

A year ago I felt how I do now.

I wanted you, but I could not allow.

I was taken and you were alone,

I would've jumped had I only known.

I thought then that it wasn't there,

I thought later that I wouldn't care.

I think now that my heart is here,

In truth my heart is nowhere near.
