Palestine, dear Palestine:

With all your beauty

and all your specialty,

why can't your true beauty ever show?

There's occupation,

and it's tearing you apart.

Settlements and struggles,

are wearing you out.

We might be weak,

and our resistance might be nothing to their war machines.

But that won't stop us,

for we are your saviors.

They took this beautiful land away from us,

and we'll do whatever it takes to bring you back.

Our strength is like these waves,

they might be small and have no effect.

Surely though, the high tide will come in and we'll be at our greatest might.

They think these apartheid walls can break us down,

but we are Palestinians and that can never stop us.

They can't tear us apart,

oh no they can't.

For even while in the fisherman's net,

the fish still carries the scent of the sea.

You give birth to heroes,

and heroes always have a story to tell.

So one day, just one day,

I'll tell my children of our success.

Of how we freed this beautiful land,

and took back what is rightfully ours.

Martyrs will have their honor,

and they can stop killing innocent lives.

Refugees can go back to their land,

and not worry about the bombs heard every night.

Gaza will not suffer anymore,

and no child will have to shed a tear at all Surely, just surely, we'll have our home back...
