Why Did He Leave?

Chapter 7

Me and Max took a road trip, we drove all the way back to Calabasas and we parked at the old burned house and I told him to go around, I entered the house and sat on the burned couch, it was falling apart.

*Flashback*

"BRANDON COME CATCH ME!" She ran down the stairs and I caught her little body, tackling her softly on the couch, I made her laugh hysterically. She kissed my nose, "I love you, big brother." I smiled happily. "I love you too." I got off her and she jumped up, jumping on my back and I ran through the house as she laughed. Dad came downstairs with his bags packed, "What's that smell?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and left the house, the smell only intensified.

"Where are you?! Lily! Where are you?!" I yelled for my little sister. I now knew the smoke from upstairs. "LILY!" I ran up the stairs and the fire roared and spread desperately through the house. I coughed loudly and looked for her but the house was halfway in flames. "BRANDON! C'MON!" It was Shield. "NO! I HAVE TO FIND LILY!" I coughed some more. "BRANDON! WE HAVE TO GO!" He screamed at me. "LILY! LILY!" I screamed in tears, last thing I remembered was getting out the fire and never seeing a Lily again. Her body was never found.

*Flashback Over*

"No ones here, boss." Max entered the burned house and stood in front of me. I nodded, "Okay. We should go." I got up from the couch. I went to leave the house when I heard a creak upstairs. I ran. "LILY! LILY!" I screamed. I had droven myself insane for 12 years, thinking that maybe... She was alive.

"LILY!" I screamed, jumping up the stairs. I went into several burned rooms but no one was found. I sighed and Max frowned, "C'mon man, don't beat yourself up. It's over.." I walked back downstairs and got in the car, Max turned the car on and we drove back to San Diego.

Anonymous POV

I walked through the burned house and knew he was here but would never have a chance to face him again... I walked the halls and the floor creaked, Brandon must of heard it because I heard running coming my way. I swiftly moved myself into a room and out of the window, jumping into the near by tree and hiding in the leaves. I saw the look of disappointment in his eyes and I felt my guilt grow bigger. But life was life.

I saw him leave the house with a man who I didn't know, I climbed out the tree, making sure they were far away from the house. I sighed and walked the opposite way the car went..

Brandon's POV

4 hour drive... I told Max to drop me off at Callie's and he stopped at her house, he stayed at the corner and I knocked on the door. Jesus opened the door, "Callie! Your boyfriends here!" He spat. She came down and smiled widely, "Hey hey!" I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her. We sat on her front porch and she noticed I had been crying, "Whats wrong?" She asked, worryingly.

"My family-- I did have one.. 12 years ago but uhm--" Callie hugged me tightly and let me pause for a moment. "What happened to them?" She asked. "My dad... He set the house on fire and left, the house caught to fast and my little sister, she--" I shook my head and covered my face as I cried quietly. "Oh my god! That's terrible... And--and your mother?"

"I don't know, I've been searching for her, for years but no luck." I said disappointingly. "Last time, I spoke with my father... He told me she was dead, for the 100th time but I insisted he was lying. I asked Shield to kill him but, I don't know." I told her. "I came to tell you about this because you've told me everything about you and I felt like it was fair to do the same to such a beautiful, fine lady like yourself." She blushed.

"Where were you really born?" She asked me. "Here, in Cali. Atleast that's what I think." I shrugged my shoulders, "Wanna just go out? Get your mind off things?" She insisted. "I actually have something I have to do with the guys but you're welcome to come... If you're up for it, babe." I smirked, cocking my head to the left. "Definitely..." She smiled.
