The Hunt

It was a game like no other. There were no rules once within the arena. The Alphas could kill any other Alpha. Heck, the Alphas could kill the females. It was a blood thirsty game, full of gore and want and drama that satisfied the spectators.

The aims of the Alphas were to claim their mate in the arena. If they came out the arena without a mate, they were marked a failure and they would be killed. The game maker Alpha Chase of the North-raider pack made sure every single Alpha that existed took part. If they simply refused to, they were deemed cowardly and killed. The Hunt, Alpha Chase called it was like the human equivalent of Love Island and Bear Gryll's put together. But with more blood and gore involved. The Hunt was so popular that nearly every family watched it through the screen of the television broadcasting everything live. It made or broke each Alpha's reputation.

Alpha Chase was the most powerful Alpha in the world. He was terrifying, strong and hated cowards. He always got what he wanted and had a hobby of killing anyone in his way which granted him the reputation of a ruthless Alpha. He belonged to the North-raider pack, a pack known for their ruthlessness and blood thirst. He had a timid mate and a mistress and had 3 children. One day, the eldest son would take over as Alpha. His name was Xavier and he was told countless times the tales of his father's success with The Hunt. He was also told that he was to take part in The Hunt when he was of age.

Alpha Chase made it clear that there was no limit on the number of females that good enter his game but every single living unmated Alpha must join or face death. This year's game interested 88 females and 67 Alphas. How the game worked was the females were released a full 20 minutes before the mate-hungry Alphas in the arena. After 20 minutes a series of howls sounded from the Alphas indicated their release as the tore through the arena trying to find their mate. Since there were no rules in The Hunt the Alphas and females did as they please. Fight, yell, mate, kill.

Alpha Chase didn't care. He did care if Alphas returned mate-less. If so, they would be dead by midnight.

This year, his son Xavier was joining. He had turned 21 and as Chase has given him the Alpha title he had to enter, whether he liked it or not. He liked it. He dreamt of the moment he found his mate, the joy he'd receive, and the feeling of that wonderful girl would be all his.
