"Again, Alexa," my coach, Paul, has said for at least the hundredth time this morning.
I nod then do my triple flip triple toe double loop combo again. Thank god I landed this one. Paul wanted me to do three in a row this morning and it took seven attempts. My jumps aren't as consistent as I want them to be...
"Okay good," Paul responded "Single lutz, then triple,"
I nodded and did what he wanted. I landed the triple fairly easily-ish. On my triple lutz, I either do it without a problem or keep on popping* them (*thats when in figure skating you do a single or sometimes a double, if your doing triples, instead of the double or triple you meant to do).
"Now do the triple lutz triple toe with the spiral in front of it," Paul ordered
"Can I stretch first?" I asked. Paul rolled his eyes then answered.
"Yes," he sighed. I just did a few Charlotte kicks then started skating into it. I did the Charlotte then went into the triple lutz triple toe. Thank god I landed it. I noticed my parents walk in to watch me skate. That's odd. Last time I checked they don't "give a crap" about skating. But for some reason they still pay for it. I don't know why...
"Amber! Xander!" Paul shouted motioning my parents over. "Thank you for coming,"
"Paul why are we coming here?" My mom asked impatiently.
"Well I think your daughter will go very far as a singles skater. But she would go farther as a pairs skater," Paul said
"What? Why? I've tried pairs already and I hated-" I freaked
"You were 10 and had a crappy partner. I don't think you really experienced pairs skating you experience "pairs skating with Nate Archibald" Paul replied almost laughing. Nate and really sucked at skating in general but his parents made him do pairs for a while. They made him as a punishment but they honestly punished me more than they punished him, not only did he suck but he had a sucky attitude.
"Fine," I grumbled "but who am I skating with?"
"Chuck Bass," said Chuck Bass. I saw Chuck standing behind Paul.
