Last chapter!
Lucy's POV: (six months later)I sat in the coffee shop next Violet and across from Alex. Lee sat with Max and Kat while we continued to talk. It's been six months since we the incident with Jeremiah, and we were all home safe.
I had more time to spend with Alex, and now that it's summer time we have the freedom to hang out with the rest of the class. It was almost Ten O'clock at night, so most of the humans weren't around.
As I sipped my iced coffee, I Noticed Mr. Stein walk in hand in hand with Lilian.
After Jeremiah's death, he regained his position on the council, taking his brother's spot as the head councilman.
Even though it happened six months ago, I felt bad for Stein. He lost his only brother in that battle.
However, he was showing no signs of grief for his loss. He stayed strong through the storm for us.
After the couple ordered their drinks, they came over to our table and pulled up a couple of chairs.
"How's your summer going so far?" Stein asked.
"It's great!" Kat perked up. "It feels nice not worrying about our school work."
"That's good." Stein took a sip of his drink. "Now that I'm here, I wanted to propose something to all of you."
We all turned our attention to stein.
"I decided to teach twelfth grade." He waited for us to gasp in excitement. "And Lilian is going to teach with me."
I was excited. Stein and Lilian were both amazing teachers.
"Stein that's awesome! Will we be in the same building?" Lee asked.
"Yes. The council is working with the local police to investigate the the facility that Director David Renolds worked at. There's still reports of Inhuman teens being abducted and tested there."
My heart sank just thinking about the time we spent in that facility. That was something that I would never forget.
"Don't worry." Stein reassured when he saw the looks on our faces. "Trust me when I say that we have better security around our school. You're safe."
I let out a sigh of relief. All of these loose ends were finally getting tied up.
"One more thing," stein added. "We're looking for well rounded Inhuman students to become interns under the council. I'm not forcing any of you to apply, but it could be an opportunity you don't want to miss."
An internship?
I don't think that Inhumans will like the idea of a non-pureblood Council woman.
Lilian took a sip of her coffee too and I noticed something glitter under the coffee shop's lights.
"Lilian," Violet smirked. "Is that a ring?"
She blushed slightly and leaned towards Stein.
"We're engaged." She said simply while letting the rest of us cheer. "He proposed about a few weeks ago."
"It's about time!" Max laughed. "Seriously you two look at each other like lovesick kids."
Stein laughed at his remark.
"Wait, if you have kids will it be a vampire or a witch?" Lee asked with all seriousness.
