"Welcome to the third day of the Grand Magic Games kabo!" this was Mato. His cheery attitude earned him a few cheers from the crowd. (I am so sorry, I completely forgot he existed, don't kill me).
"We will start with the well-known preliminary event Assassin, but we will add surprising twists. First, we will be picking the participants which will be three of each team. Secondly, every five minutes the mages participating will be experiencing a 'blackout' which makes them blind for a period of time. And thirdly, you will always be chased, if you want to have a chance of winning, you'll have to fight the chaser and defeat them."
For all you people who don't know how the game works let Ren quickly explain with new rules.
Ren: So all the players have their own first target. They defeat their target in a mini battle to gain 5 points. If they lose you regenerate somewhere else but still have the same first target. If you win you will get the five points and get a different target to fight. If someone who has one of the players as their target and they lose in battle the winner of the battle will get 1 point. *Yawns and looks for Rose* Oh, and there will be occasional darkness. This could be an advantage or a disadvantage for the players as people who have enhanced senses could use it as their time to attack... If you haven't skipped this then... Well done to you *eye closed grin*. Moving on with the story!
"Before we come over and start, we do not, I repeat do not, hold responsibility for any serious injuries and deaths in this game kabo!" Mato smiled, unsettling the audience and more importantly, the mages who were to take part. Then Mato appeared on Sabertooth's balcony startling most of the guild except the two sets of twins.
"Who to pick, who to pick. Twins, you seem pretty powerful kabo, but how strong combined? Yukino, you haven't had a chance to shine as well as Minerva, let's make it interesting kabo. Yukino, Sara and Sana will be taking part in this event! Make your way kabo!"
Yukino seemed nervous. Who wouldn't, she had been teamed up with people who's power were yet to be defeated. Lucy gave her an encouraging smile.
"The mages representing Fairy Tail are Erza Scarlet, Gajeel Redfox and Lisanna Strauss!" the three named mages appeared at the podium.
"From Sabertooth, we have Sara, Sana and Yukino!" There was cheering booming from the audience. The girls stood beside the Fairy Tail guild members. Erza gave the team a nod.
(The three from other teams were:
Lamia Scale: Lyon, Jura and Chelia
Blue Pegasus: Ichiya, Eve and Ren
Mermaid Heel: Kagura, Milliana and Risley Law
Quatro Puppies: Bacchus Groh, Rocker and Jager)
All of the teams entered the podium, all standing side by side.
"Now that we have our teams, let the games begin!"
And the contestants were teleported away. Surrounding them were trees. Lucy looked around and saw a lacrima showing the face of her first victim. It was Erza, this was going to be interesting.
Lola was near a lake, her target being Gajeel, she set out to search for the iron dragon slayer. Ignoring the presence of her assassin.
-----
Yukino was currently hiding in a tree, waiting for her victim, not noticing her assassin behind her until it was too late. She was only able to raise her arms to protect her face. She hissed in pain but soon looked at her injuries with curiosity, they healed. This seemed to faze the attacker giving Yukino enough time to run.
