The sun beamed through the curtains and into the room of ship. The light danced on the floor as the curtains flowed in the wind. A 16 year old girl was laying in her bed now awake from the light so she kicked off her blanket . She moaned then threw her legs over the side of the bed. Feet touching the cold wooden floor she stretched for the ceiling.

She wore a plain light tan shirt with cut off sleeves, brown skirt with paints underneath and a few bracelets around her wrists.

The girl bounced to her feet and trotted over to the window and pushed the curtain away to look at the high seas. The sea air was blowing in her face and she heard it sing. She grinned and turned around and grabbed her socks then slipped them on. Then she quickly brushed her towhead hair and put it into a low ponytail. Grabbed her shoes and ran out her room pushing the door open.

It opened to the top deck and she skipped across it, passing all the fishing nets.

"Evelyn! You know you don't have to get up this early?" A brown haired man asked from the steering wheel of the ship.

She turned around and saw a few men standing next to him. Sorry, but the sun said otherwise!

Evelyn walked down the stairs to the lower deck, then tipped toed past the rooms. Then trotted down the hall to the kitchen, and opened the door. She saw the boats cook already up and cutting up potatoes. She trotted over and put her hands on the table,

"How can i help?" She asked hopeful.

"No thanks Evelyn i got this," he answered dryly without even giving her a passing glance.

But you can set the table if you want, he stabbed the table with the knife and scooped the cut up potatoes.

She flinched at the knife then rolled her eyes not knowing why she expected anything different.

Sizzle. He put them into a pan that was being heated by the fire and they began to cook. Then as they were cooking he grabbed a bunch of fish meat and threw it in another pan. Meanwhile Evelyn grabbed the plates and silverware, grumbling under her breath.

After an hour cooking the cook took the food and brought it over. The cooked fish and potatoes were in the middle of the table with seven plates on each side and a fork on each plate. Yak milk was in a Pitcher and water in another.

She looked down and saw one of the forks wasn't straight so she looked away and silently straightened it. Soon after the crew members came in rubbing their eyes, but the shot back open to see breakfast. Evelyn was standing next the table with her hands folded behind her back.

They all shuffled to the table and sat down then began to get their food.

"Looks awesome as usual." One of the sailors patted the cook on the back as he walked by.

Evelyn looked down and slid her foot on the ground. She sighed disappointed, but notice her father wasn't there. Grabbing a plate of food for herself and Calder she then walked out of the room.

She went back up to the deck and saw the Calder still at the wheel. She smiled at him and walked over then handed a plate of food to him.

"Thank you Fish Sticks ." Calder said has he grabbed the plate and leaned against the wheel. Did you make it? He took the fork and took a large bite of fish.
