chapter 3: There he was

|Izuku POV|

I head to the beach to clear my mind and of course take my jog, it's so peaceful here...I'm so glad that this was the place where my destiny started. I will be the best hero and no one can stop me from doing so!

"Deku?"

I turn around and...

"K-Kacchan?"

"Ugh what the hell are you doing here?"

"I could ask the same, but if you must know I'm out for a jog"

"Let me join you"

"What?"

"I said let me join you, I hate jogging alone and I might not like you but I wouldn't mind jogging with you"

"I-I see, well c'mon let's get started!" I smile

He clicks his tounge at me and we start jogging. This is so awkward, we haven't talked since we started running er I mean jogging. He's making the air so tense....what do I do?

"Stop thinking to yourself it's annoying"

"Uh I-I'm s-sorry"

"Just talk to me if that makes you more comfortable or whatever"

"How did you?-"

"I know you, you get tense and just freeze up"

I didn't know Kacchan was so observant...

"Since when were you so observant?"

"I was always this way damn nerd" he said playfully

Ever since Kacchan found out he was a lion he started being mean, so seeing and hearing him be so....happy is so nostalgic.

I smile at him and he turns away from me?

"Kacchan? Is something wrong?"

"Nope everything is okay"

"Are you sure? Why aren't you facing me?"

"No reason"

"Are you sure?"

"Positive"

"oh okay"

"So, I heard you made it into my school"

"Well I mean it's not your school but-"

"Answer me the right way Deku, or you'll piss me off"

"R-right s-sorry, I guess I was accepted for the hero points"

"G....j...."

"What?"

"I said good job..."

"Did you just-compliment me?!"

"Don't get used to it, you just.....have changed a lot and I didn't believe it"

"I-I see"

"Let's take a break"

"Sounds good Kacchan"

"Whatever, stupid Deku" he smiled playfully

I never knew how much I missed this side of him until now. Wait...I sound like I'm... I can't possibly....do I.......no

There has to be something wrong with me, there's no other explanation...maybe I'm going insane? Who knows but what might know is...I... might...like...him.

"They're fine...but how did you know I had friends?"

"Pffffffttt the way you worded that made it sound like you have no friends"

"Oh yeah I forget that you're prey when you act so high and mighty"

"You're....extremely....curvy...to say the least... And your fúcking ripped"

"W-why would you say something like that?!" I asked very flustered

"Well it's the truth! Shall we change the topic?"

We make eye contact and immediately start laughing! I haven't had this much fun in ages! Especially with Kacchan....I'm glad I get to see him like this ...

"We won't talk about this tomorrow right"

"Huh?"

"Kacchan, by tommorow you're going to act the same way you did before we got into Yueii and act like none if this ever happened"

"Who do you take me for Deku?"

"What?"

"Sure I'm a huge jerk but I want to be different, I want to start by fixing this... complicated friendship"
