"Noah you can't have chocolate now, you'll spoil your lunch!" Renesmee Mikaelson, older child of New Orleans' king Klaus Mikaelson, the mother of three, shrieked at the sight of her eldest child's face covered in sweet deliciousness. She rocked two twin baby girls in her hands, Faith and Grace, who were almost 6 months old.
"But mommy!", the boy whined back, stomping his foot on the ground once she took away the chocolate bar. The front door of the Manor were heard and Kai rushed in. "Jesus Christ, hormonal teenagers are so hard to handle!" He loosened his tie as he walked towards Renesmee. She pecked his lips.
"What happened at work?" She asked as she watched Kai embrace his son. "I hope you never grow up, buddy." Kai ruffled the 3 year old boy's hair. "You gave him chocolate?"
She huffed. Don't ask, an enormous house and 3 children and she's all alone. Sometimes it was too much, but yet again so worth it. Being able to create a little baby felt so amazing. "Can you clean the chocolate off his face and come back to tell me what happened at school?"
"These teens don't give a damn about what I'm teaching, baby. And Saltzman hates my guts." He started setting up the table. Renesmee set the two babies in the feeding chair.
"Well you did kinda kill his wife. Think about it: you'd hate anyone who killed me."
"No, I'd kill anyone who tried."
"As far as the kids are concerned, don't bother. They'll come around." She said chopping the tomatoes for the salad.
"Hopie!" Noah hopped off his chair and vampire sped towards to door to meet her.
"No running in the house Noah!"
That kid is hyperactive, I swear.
With Noah snuggled in her embrace, a now fifteen year old Hope Mikaelson walked in the kitchen. She was wearing her school uniform and a backpack.
"Hey sis. This kid of yours is getting heavier every day." She smiled setting Noah on the down. The moment his feet hit the carpet, he ran off making his father chuckle and his mother sigh. Hope kissed temples of both of the twin girls, who were slowly dozing off in their feeding chairs.
"I'm gonna go take them upstairs, okay?" She whispered before hurrying away.
Hope took a look at Kai. He looked tired. "How does coming back to school treat you pal?" She asked as he ran his hand through his hair.
"It's shit. I don't remember me being an prick when I was a teenager. You?"
"I don't even care about school as much anymore, it's not my priority anymore."
"Is it a boy?"
"There's no way I'm telling you. We might call each other pal, but you're still my teacher." Hope shook her head.
"So I know him? Please don't tell me he's one of the little dumb heads annoying me all time."
"It's not just him, okay?!", she groaned, "It's dad too."
"What about Klaus?" Kai asked while putting the meal on her plate.
"Really Kai?! Have you been living under a rock lately?" She burst out, but quickly composed herself.
"I miss him. And I am mad at him. He should be around, he should answer to any of my letters - but he doesn't." She exhaled deeply. He gave her hand a comforting squeeze.
"Am I not good enough?" A tear slid down her cheek.
Hurried footsteps were heard from behind them. Renesmee frowned and plopped down on the seat beside her sister. "I don't want to hear you say that ever again." She hugged her tightly.
"Dad will find his way back to us. Meanwhile, you have the two of us here with you. You'll always be welcome here. I know we can't exactly fill the gap, but we're cool too." Renesmee joked at the end.
"And if someone screws with you in school you come straight to me pal. I'll handle it." Kai added.
"Thanks guys, now let's eat, the dinner's getting cold and I have to go back to the dorm soon."
