Another month has passed, and I'm starting to fully adapt to my new lifestyle in Madrid. The school workload is increasing, but thankfully seniors were able to go on break soon. It was only late October, so I was a bit surprised at how early the break was starting.

Today it's raining slightly, and I have to go out to buy some things from outside campus after my meeting with Antoine. My room is starting to become horribly messy now that Amelia has visited it many times.

It's pretty late out, and I know Amelia has said something about the streets of  Madrid being unsafe at night, but most cities are like that anyways.

As I wander through the streets, I finally make my way into the city.

There aren't many people here to my surprise, despite it only being 10:30 PM.

That's already pretty late, the international dorms close at 11:00 PM.

Knowing I have to go fast, I scurry through the people strolling around casually until I hit what seems to be a crossroad.

The left side that I usually go on is blocked, and the right side is completely dark.

Knitting my eyebrows in confusion, I turn right. Through prior knowledge and roaming the cities of France, I knew that I'd find light somewhere.

However, all hopes are abandoned when I hear some footsteps behind me.

I know they're coming from the alleyways, but my pulse begins increasing rapidly when I hear the steps becoming louder.

When I stop in my tracks, the steps stop too.

Okay, that's creepy.

Just when I thought the darkness was going to consume me whole, I find a small crack in the alleyway that I'm walking through, meaning that the other end is definitely open. I can probably escape.

But I halt in my steps when I see a person walking towards me.

That was a mistake.

Within seconds,  a man behind me shoves me into the ground, laughing as my body comes in contact with the wet, filthy pavement. The alleyway reeks of trash and polluted air, as I am brought to my senses, scrambling to get up and run.

"Mi amor, my baby girl, don't leave me please." He remarks

I gasp as the person walking towards me grabs my arm, pulling me forward and slamming me against the wall of the alleyway.

"What the f-"

I feel a filthy hand covering my mouth, preventing me from calling out.

"You're in for a treat tonight."

With my free arm, I knock his arm out of the way, trying to push him to the side to escape this mess. There are only a few more feet left until the lighter area of the alleyway.

"You satanic bastard," I respond, one of the insults that Antoine taught me.

"Don't let her escape, what are you doing?!" He calls out to the other guy, motioning for him to help.

I feel a heavy weight behind me as I am pushed to the ground once again. My arms are pinned behind my back and I frantically begin kicking at the men, urging them to stop.

He picks me up and pushed me against the wall once again, as I feel my head bang against the cold, jagged concrete.

Trembling, I inhale his disgusting alcoholic breath when he brings his face close to mine.
