In simple desires come...

I once believed the world was all cruel

filled with punishments and settlements

nothing out of heart unless it were resentments

but then came an old man

who was looking for youth

a maiden or lad

any would do.

He saw me in the shadows

so he came and stood beside me

and said:

"Think boy, think. What would you be here for?

Find it boy, find it. There's a reason you breathe

Hear me now, hear me boy, there's a reason I came

Stop that boy, stop it! Get away from that blade.

Listen boy, listen, I know hope may seem lost

but look boy, look and see the world's loss

is it really this land or is it you and me

who make the most hideous harmony?

No, don't you cry like a little boy

stand up and be strong for those who are coy,

for those who are cowards but want a change

but if you only see flaws what happiness can you attain?"

In simple desires come greater joys.
