Naruto's POV

I woke up the next morning completely forgetting about my dream the previous night. I sat up stretching out my stiff muscles.

'I really overdid it the other day' I thought as the fight with Sasuke flashed through my head. My eyes shot open as I remember a small fact about that fight. I got up out of bed and looked around my room for my bag. I found it in the kitchen sitting on the table. I reached into the bag and pulled out a necklace. It was simple but had a deep meaning. Four pieces of black yarn holding together three metal rings. The necklace of Itachi Uchiha. I walked back upstairs to get dressed with the necklace still in hand. I walked into my closet and pulled out my black pants along with a white tee shirt and my orange vest. I was walking around my room looking for my headband as I walked by a mirror in my room. I stopped in my tracks as I looked in the mirror. My hair was down past my shoulders and there was a thick layer of grim on my face. I stripped off my pajamas and walked into the shower and spent a good hour in there. Once I got out I grabbed one of my kunai and started hacking at my hair. I didn't bother to sweep up the strands of yellow hair on the floor. I got dressed and continued to look for my headband.

'Where the hell is it' I thought as I smacked my head on the bottom of my bed looking underneath it. I still had the necklace in my hand as I sat down on the edge of my bed nursing the back of my head. I stared at the necklace as it lied in my hand. I lied the necklace down on my leg and wrapped it around my wrist tying it at the end. I stood up and left my house leaving without my headband. I walked through the village with my hands in my pockets and my head down.

'This feels weird' I thought as I reached up to my forehead hoping to feel the familiar metal that covered my head. I walked into the Hokage's office to get a new one. I was about to burst in the door but stopped myself knowing that dad was not going to bed on the other side waiting for me. I stood there for a minute until I composed myself enough to knock on the door.

"Come in" I heard granny Tsunade yell. I open the door and greeted her with a smile.

"Morning," I said as I walked in the door

"Good morning Naruto what can I do for you," She asked not taking her eyes off her paperwork.

"So I was getting dressed this morning and I couldn't find my headband, and I was wondering if you have seen it anywhere or if I lost it the other day," I said Raising my hand to scratch the back of my head hoping to play an innocent role.

"Yes I saw it the other day as I nursed your wounds," She said as she continued with her paperwork

"Well can you tell me where it is, or if you are busy I could ask Shizune," I said to her

"I will gladly give you your headband back... In two weeks" She said as she looked up from her paperwork for the first time since I walked in the door.

"I'm sorry, I don't understand," I said to her after a few moments of silence

"You are off duty for two weeks for mental healing and evaluation," She said

"But-" I began to say

"No, buts Naruto" She yelled as she glared at me. I just stood there horrified.

"Where are Kakashi sensei and Sakura," I asked her

"Out on a mission," She said in a very short tone

"Where," I asked next

"It is none of your concern since you are going home right now," she said going back to her paperwork

"But Tsunade-" I tried to say again

"ANBU" she yelled out as two ANBU agents appeared at my shoulders "Take Mr. Namikaze home, please" She growled as the pen in her hand snapped. One of the ANBU grabbed my wrist but I quickly broke out of his hand. I clenched my fist in anger as I turned to walk out the door

"Naruto" Tsunade said stopping me in my tracks. She took a deep breath before she spoke

"Naruto I don't want this, but you are doing this to yourself I promised your father-" She began to say, but it was my turn to interrupt her

"Don't even talk about him" I growled as I turned around to her "You have no right to use his name" I yelled as I teleported away leaving Tsunade and her ANBU in the dust. I teleported to Ichiraku ramen.

"GOD DAMN IT" I yelled in the alleyway as I punched a small hole in the wall. Ayame rushed out into the street to see who was yelling.

"Naruto are you ok," She asked rushing up to me "Your crying," She said as she placed her hand on my arm. I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes as I spoke to her

"I'm fine...Thank you" I said looking at her. She hesitated before she spoke to me

"Well that's good, but shouldn't you be home resting," she asked with a fake smile on her face. My smile turned to a frown as I ripped my arm out of her hand yelling at her

"You too. You are just like the rest" I said as I turned and ran out into the street with her calling out my name. I ran through the streets with tars trailing me. I slowed down to catch my breath as I saw team eight walking by. I wiped away my tears and shot a smile at them as they walked by. They didn't even make eye contact, not to mention smile. When they did see me, Shino just glared, Kiba gritted his teeth trying not to yell, Akamaru growled at me. I could have ignored all of this but the one that hurt the most was Hinata. As soon as she saw me I saw tears fill her eyes as she turned around and ran back the way she came. I heard Kiba curse something under his breath as he glared at me for a moment before he turned around and followed Hinata. Shino followed soon after Kiba

'I am alone' I thought as the world around me seemed to get darker. My dream came back to me as I stood there alone on the side of the road. I stared up at the sky as tears fell down my face.

'So this is how my fire goes out. Short-lived wasn't it Gramps' I thought with a smile on my face and streams of tears falling off my face. I started to laugh out loud a bit as I brought my hands up to my face

'I'm going crazy' I thought in a panic as the two ANBU from earlier appeared behind me.

"Naruto don't move" One of them ordered. I'm not sure if the insanity was talking or my rage, but I snapped at the two ANBU agents.

"Or what you'll kill me," I said turning around to them. My face couldn't show it, but I was surprised and angered to see a bear mask and dog mask. Yamato and Kakashi sensei.

"Try and do it I dare you," I said pulling out one of my kunai and dropping back into an attack stance.

"Naruto we don't want to fight," Kakashi said taking off his mask as Yamato clasped his hand together

"but we will," he said as he pulled down his mask revealing his mangekyou Sharingan. I was about to jump at him but I felt a senbon hit me in the back. I felt my vision blur as I fell to the ground. I was able to roll over and see three bodies standing over me before I blacked out. The third person had pink hair.

'I am really alone' I thought as my vision blacked out and I felt someone pick me up to most likely carry me home. I awoke in the same dream again, but this time the fire was already out, and the cold snowy night was closing in around me.

"We will not leave you" I heard someone say. I swung around to see Madara standing behind me. Come to join us, come to join a greater purpose one that will bring about your father's ideals of peace and harmony" I stared at him and considered his answer, before the last thing my father told me popped into my head

"No," I said as I stared him down " I will get stronger, strong then Sasuke, Stronger then Itachi, and stronger than you. I need to. I need to protect her no matter how she feels about me now" I yelled at him

"I will protect her even if I have to throw away my life" I yelled into the snow that engulfed Madara and was about to engulf me. As soon as the snow hit me I woke up in my bed. I looked down at my hands and saw blood dripping from where my nails dug into my skin. I squeezed my hand making more blood flow out

'I will protect her dad just as you wanted'

New chapter. yipeeeeee, Sorry for the slow updates school just started up and I need to get settled in before I could write again. hopefully, in the upcoming week, I will be able to update on Fridays, Sundays, and Wednesdays
