I saw a picture of a serial killer, but that wasn't what made me write this. His picture was unsettling because I expected evil to show on his face. When I think of evil I think of a Sauron-like figure or orcs or something, not a calm middle aged man. He killed fifty women without remorse, but I wouldn't have recognized him for what he was; I don't expect evil to blend in. The realization that it can is pretty scary. Did the rest of the Twelve react when Satan entered Judas? (John 13:27) Some of them thought he was just going to buy something. (Verse 29) Clearly there's a reason Peter said to be alert.

1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
