The Cashier

Here I was Working Those night shifts again.... To be honest I hate working at this place, working at a grocery store was my last option since I partially quit my last job. Having to deal with angry customers that there were cans and food expired, cleaning up messes and standing on your feet for 8 hours straight.

All I wanted was a decent job, a job that I actually enjoy working at. But I guess you can't find happiness everywhere you go right? I just needed the money to set food on the table, helping my mom out since she has 3 other kids to take care off with no husband since my dad left to God who knows where.

It was 9:50pm and it's partially me and my friend Bethany who had the night shifts today. 10 more minutes until I could go home and sleep since I was here at 11 am.

I decided to switch with her since I was stocking for 4 hours and she happily took over. They were still customers but not that much as before. She went to the back room and grabbed boxes filled with cans that needed to be stocked on the shelves
to kill time.

As she got the boxes I was scanning the items down as the old lady in front me put her items down. Man... this lady was too much. It was like she never went grocery shopping in her life! She had so much grocerys my arms got tired just by scanning and putting them into bags, but I want complaining. This was my job and technically asked for it anyways.

"OK ma'am your total comes to $267.45" I said as she pulled out her card and swiped it through the machine

I'm glad she had her son with her cause I wast about to carry all of those stuff in her car

As they left I took a seat and relaxed for a bit, looking ag the time it was time for closing the store.

I got the microphone out to let the customers know (if there was any left) to notify them that the time has come and it was closing

since nobody came up to the cash I walked out until I heard a voice behind me

"You have room for one more?"

I turned around and looked the girl in front of me. She was dead drop gorgeous!
With her looks she had to be Hispanic.

"Of course I mean as you can tell we have a tough crowd tonight" I joked

she simply giggled as she set down  her
Items on the belt

This Girl must really love bananas because she had like 3 pounds of it along with chips and drinks.

"If you're asking, yes I love bananas. I was too lazy to come back and get more but I was like.. I'll buy it for the whole 3 weeks" she smiled

I looked at her and laughed

"You do realize that they go bad until a certain time right?"

"Ahh trust me I can finish them within the week" she smirked

"Damn girl, I mean... if it was chicken wings and pizza I'd eat it in a heartbeat!"
I said causing her to chuckle

"You're funny, I'm camila by the way"

She took out her hand indicating for me to shake it as I laughed

She gave me a confused look as she just stared at me

"I'm sorry it's just.. I haven't shaken someone's hand in a long time as they introduced themselves"

I took out my hand and shook hers

"OK your total comes to $10.45" I lied

"Huh? But It can't be those chips were li-"

"Shh it's fine honestly just don't tell my boss" I winked

"No honestly it's fi-"

"Look either we gonna complain about you not paying $24.56 or I'll just let you leave with nothing to pay about a bottle your choice" I said

She sighed as she gave me a $10 bill

"Don't worry the 45 cents on me" I had a quarter and 20 cents as I paid the remainder

Her jaw dropped

"Is this what you do to customers you just met?" She asked

"Nah I just do it to customers especially you since your the first one"

She blushed as I put her items in the bag

"You never told me your name" she said looking at me as she tilted her head

"You can call me mines... for now" I smirked

"I would but my boyfriend wouldn't like that" she giggled

"Yeah well neither does mine, but he don't gotta know" I said

She smiled as she asked me for my phone so she could put her number in it. We exchanged phones as she had the camera and she took a selfie with the both of ua to set it as her dp in my Contacts. She was beautiful and cute... Ghee David wasn't going to like this

I mean I just met the girl and she already got me feelin some type of way! I have a boyfriend but she questioning my thoughts

She reached for the bag and she was headed out the door

"W-wait!" I called out

She turned and looked at me with a devilish smirk

"That's it? you're just gonna leave without saying goodbye or goodnight?" I asked

She just blew me a kiss as she swayed her hips out the door leaving me speechless.

Bethany came up to me as we started closing the store.

As we both went our separate ways I went to my car as I heard my phone ding

*DING*

I chuckled as I sent her a short reply after

Minutes later I got another notification on my instagram that someone has tagged me in

As I was gonna comment she already dmed me

I commented on the picture as I liked it

Y/N_Y/L/N: I suddenly love my job

I'm glad I chose this job as at this grocery store, finally something good happens in my life and Camila changed that

Every since that day, Camila has been buying more bananas and chips lately, we've been texting and calling eachother nonstop after that day

Sometimes I'm just doing my job, but I don't think I'll quit soon because I'm just the Cashier that has one particular customer in mind
