-Book 1.-

As she entered the living room, her heart sank even further. Eugenia, her girlfriend, was there, packing her belongings with a look of sadness etched on her face.

The sight was like a punch to the gut, leaving Selena breathless and bewildered. She couldn't tear her eyes away from Eugenia, her mind racing with questions and confusion.

The reality of the situation seemed unfathomable, like a cruel twist of fate she never saw coming. She was completely speechless.

"What are you doing?!" Selena yelled, her voice cracking with emotion.

"I'm done with this," Eugenia replied, her eyes avoiding Selena's gaze.

"Why are you leaving me like this?" She yelled again, desperate for an answer.

"This is how it's supposed to be," Eugenia said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"So, you're leaving me after everything we've been through?" She asked, her voice trembling.

"I'm trying to protect you," Eugenia said, her eyes finally meeting Selena's.

"Well, this isn't how you handle things," Selena said, her frustration mounting.

"Then we don't really know each other that well," Eugenia said, her voice cold and distant.

"Why are you doing this?" She asked, her voice cracking with emotion.

"Look, I'm not trying to be a third wheel in my own relationship!" Eugenia yelled, her frustration boiling over.

"You're not a third wheel. Eugenia, you promised me you would fight for our relationship. We can fix this!" She said, her voice pleading.

"We can't fix this, and it's not worth the heartache. I'm so sorry," Eugenia said, her voice barely above a whisper, before turning and walking away.

"Walk away then, if that's all you're good for," Selena taunted, her eyes blazing with defiance and was done begging, done pleading for Eugenia to stay.

But then something unexpected happened. Eugenia pinned her against the wall and kissed her deeply, leading her to the bedroom.

Selena couldn't believe it - was this really happening? As they tumbled onto the bed, Selena felt a rush of anger and passion.

She straddled Eugenia's waist, kissing her roughly and letting all her pent-up frustration out. Afterwards, as Eugenia got dressed and prepared to leave, Selena couldn't believe it.

"You're still leaving?!" She yelled, feeling a sense of desperation creeping in.

"It's over," She said, and walked out the door.

Eugenia slammed the door shut and let out a long sigh, leaning her head against it. Despite her apprehension about leaving Selena, she knew there was no turning back, with her suitcase in tow, got into her car and drove away.

Selena felt a deep sense of emptiness and regret. Justin's proposal had caused her to lose Eugenia's love, leaving her alone and crying herself to sleep.

Their drinks arrived, and they eagerly awaited their food. Suddenly, Selena got down on one knee and pulled out a small box.

"Oh my god," Eugenia gasped.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you, forever. Will you marry me, Eugenia Howard Trejo?" Selena asked, her eyes shining with love.
