Crying over technology what a first world problem

Update on the whole phone situation

Went to Apple. They said it wasn't my fault but there wasn't anything they could do about it unless I wanted to pay £290 which is just bullshit. It wasn't my fault. I didn't do anything to damage it. Why do I have to pay that amount of money which I most certainly do not have?

So I was like yeah cool no not paying that. I called up the company for my old phone because it needs to be unlocked if I want my new SIM to work in it. Thought it would be simple. Nope I have to wait 7 days. At least. As in, it could be longer.

Which is fantastic, isn't it? So long story short, ended up crying to my mum because I hate using money even if we're sort of well off. I'm still in a state over a piece of technology which is absolutely pathetic.

What I'm worried about is school. I have to rely on the school's WiFi to talk to my only proper friends (internet friends) and that's just unreliable and slow. Oh and I'll have to use my iPod and that has a shitty battery that only lasts like an hour. As well as this, I have no work to do so I'll just be sitting around doing nothing for large proportions of my day. I'm just so upset.

So why do I have to pay the price? (Both literally and not)

It's unfair

My phone is my life and my friend haha

I'm sad. I'm pathetic. Sure, tell me. Give me another stupid reason to mope.
