Ochaco was the first person that Izuku interacted with when he first came to U.A. High. He saved her from being attacked by giant robot and she did the same by ensuring he landed safely on the ground. The two met again after becoming classmates and soon became best friends; they get along very well and their discussions are always bright and friendly. Ochaco was the one that turned his once demeaning nickname "Deku" into a positive identity for him, when she said it gave her a "never gives up" vibe. They share similar ways of quick thinking, which contributes to their friendship.

PROS:

• They mutually respect each other as Izuku defended her to Katsuki Bakugo and Camie.

• Izuku thinks of her as a brave and resourceful person by herself.

•Ochaco is inspired by him, striving for his level of tenacity and perseverance.

•They are protective of one another as Ochaco quickly called the police after she found Izuku threatened by Tomura Shigaraki.

•It has been confirmed that Ochaco has feelings for Izuku, but Izuku has yet to reciprocate those feelings, although it's implied that he does.
