their nights are stitched by nightmares.
oh-so comforting nightmares.
when sleep hits, they are welcomed to a world of impossibilities; where the walls talk and the people smile and there's not a villain in sight. where everybody wins the race and sadness doesn't exist. where life is perfect. but the anguish only comes when they wake up and realize that their wonderful world, the one full of impossibilities, was never real.
that it was only a dream.
well, a dream that became a nightmare. because a dream that makes you never want to leave, but forces you out anyway, can be called nothing other than a nightmare.
and the today girls know that these distorted illusions will gnash at the frayed edges of their minds until there's nothing left - but still, every night, they allow their eyes to slip close so that they can prance into their wonderland* and stay there, if only for a few hours.
* - where all these girls disappear to every night, (don't worry, they've only fallen down the rabbit hole).
