17. My little light

Taya and I walked around the market for ages, buying all sorts of weird and unnecessary things! Laughed our heads off we headed to my house! I had invited Taya to stay over! Her ghost had a little blue shell, her voice was sweet and robotic, I think her name was Eve... I asked her where she got the name from, she simple said it was from a movie called Wall-E? Huh sounds kinda cute! My ghost flew out to recharge in his little light chamber that Eliana had made for him, Eve flew out as well and inspected the house, we dumped our stuff on the couch and I showed her my room. Taya sat down on the bed as I chucked her some PJ's!

" Thx (Y/N)! Soo, any movies u wanna watch? Oh! Maybe we could bake something or maybe we could prank call people!"

I laughed at her and I stepped into the bathroom to change. Once we were both in our PJ's we sat in the lounge and I fetched us some chocolate! We found ' The Hunger Games' and did a marathon, we were half way through the second movie when Taya leaned over and asked,

" Hey... (Y/N)... what do u think of Cayde?"

I shrugged and my stomach did a flip,

" He seems really nice! And I'm sure he was a great boyfriend..."

Taya smiled,

" Yeah he's a really nice guy! Maybe u two should hang out sometime!"

I nodded and I chuckled a pillow at her,

" Sheesh! I've only known u for a few hours and we're already talking about boys?"

We both laughed and pillows went flying as we fought with deadly father slaps!

Today had been amazing!

Caydes POV

" Eliana... idk maybe there's a way to trigger her memories?"

I walked beside Eliana as she sighed,

" Cayde, I don't want ya ta be disappointed if she don't remember ok?"

I nodded my head, Guardians walked about the Plaza as the night air ruffled my cape. Laughter and chatter swirled around as we walked, I leaned over the railing and Eliana put her hand on my shoulder,

" Cayde... I- LOOK OUT!"

Eliana tackled me to the floor as we both looked into the sky, and there with her blood flowing eyes was Eris Mourn! Her expression was stern and grave as she landed, Guardians pulled out their guns and knives and she gave them a nod.

" Where's Zavala?"

She asked calmly, I gestured for Eliana to stay down and I got up walking towards Eris.

" Oh Eris! Sooo good to see u! U know I think the last time I saw u was when u out a bullet in my friends head! Wow! Feels like yesterday! DOSENT IT!"

I yanked it my gun and aimed it at her skull,

" I merely wish to speak with Zavala."

Just then Zavala and Ikora shoved their way through the crowd their eyes locked on Eris.

" Eris... u should not be here..."

Zavala spoke his voice stern as cold.

" Zavala I'm here to give a message from my Queen."

" Oh here we go..."

I rolled my eyes but didn't drop my gun, Eris cleared her throat and continued.

" The traveler as well as all it had blessed will bow down to the might of Queen Maeve, All who decline this order will face the consequences of our Light Eaters..."

A wave of murmur rushed through the crowd.

" Light Eaters?"

Ikora questioned. Eris gave a lethal smile,

" A little creation of my own... Light Eaters can suck the light of just about anything... no guardian will ever be able to get close enough to take them down! So do u expect?"

Zavala looked around the crowd, locking eyes with Ikora and I... one by one all the gathered Guardians in the plaza called to their ghosts,
Round ghosts
Gold ghosts
Old ghosts
New ghosts!
Every type of ghost u could imagine appeared, no Guardian backed down, and neither did their ghosts! With a smile, Zavala said,

" Eyes up Guardians!"

All Guardians in the plaza gave a cheer! Some yelled to the traveler others yelled to never give up! Eris backed away into the shadows,

" u have made a grave mistake!"

And with that she disappeared into thin air!

The plaza burst into a roar of cheers! Tiny lights from the ghosts sparkled in the night as Zavala stepped to the clearing in the middle of the gathered Guardians!

" Guardians! Our light is a blessing! And we thank the traveler every day for its choices! But this light does not make us who we r! Our choices and actions do! Today u all have proven that u r all proud Guardians! Ready to stand for what's right! And for that I thank u... u Guardians r more then just people with the power of the light! U r HEROS!"

Guardians cheered and whooped at Zavala's speech and he gave a smile to me and Ikora, I leaned over to Ikora,

" So... he has no idea what we're going to do against these Light Eaters does he?"

" No... not a clue..."
