Awakening

Here we are again,
A new day and a new dawn,
This is just like life's pain,
Oh I'm sorry to ramble on.

You lie there waking from your sleep,
Eyes trying to open from the deep,
You then hear the annoying beep,
And the day has hope in it lets give it a peep,

You stagger from the bed to your feet,
And go to open the bedroom door,
When you realise you are acting on repeat,
And fall immediately to the floor.

You bang your head and your eye is sore,
Scrabbling around you feel it pour,
The red liquid you try to ignore
simply you cannot cope anymore.

You raise your weary carcass from its prone position,
You wonder what is your real condition
You recall the mention of a tumour from your clinician
And are thankful that he was one of life's magicians

You see yourself in the mirror looking drawn
You let out a hell of a yawn
But know you are no longer infected by the devils spawn
This is your life and another dawn
