Chapter 5

Nyra's POV

I SLAMMED THE car door very hard. I was kind of annoyed since I didn't sleep well these past few weeks because I had recurring dreams of Katherine compelling me.

I thought she was my friend but she compelled me to ignore how similar we look like.

I had cut my hair short a couple of weeks ago so that everyone can tell me apart from the rest of my look-alikes.

To my surprise, Elena gave me some unprescribed glasses that she bought for me. 

Also what bothered me was that Elena revealed that I was adopted and that she is my biological twin sister and that her brother Jeremy was my cousin.

The first thing I did was call my parents so I can let them know where I'm at.

They were worried that a werewolf kidnapped me or something and it ended up being worse.

I wanted to call Allison but, my parents told me not to in order to keep her in the dark about the supernatural world.

I, of course, agreed because I can't imagine ever losing the little sister I grew up with... she would get mad at me for keeping her in the dark for so many years because she's my best friend.

I told my parents about my birth sister and her crazy life in Mystic Falls and explained the reason I wanted to stay, which was to protect my birth sister and cousin.

I didn't mention anything about the sacrifice, because if my parents knew that I was in danger they wouldn't hesitate to drag me to a safe house.

They informed me that my cover story this time was that they sent me to a boarding school in Virginia.

Elena decided to wake me up very early to go visit the Salvatore brothers.

One reason for not wanting to come was that I was awakened too early and the other is that I don't know if I can keep a straight face around Damon.

Elena knocked on the door and almost immediately Damon opens the door.

As I stand next to Elena Damon looks towards me and smiles.

"Hello, Elena and Nyra"

Elena stepped forward, ignoring his greeting and just trying to get to the point.

"Is Stefan here? he called saying it was important."

Damon opens the door even wider without breaking eye contact with me.

"Right this way"

As we entered the house Stefan popped out of nowhere and made me jump.

"Hey"

He walks up to Elena and she slightly fidgets.

"What is this about?"

Stefan turns around causing me and Elena to look at Rose.

Elena was still upset with her but I just swept those feelings away the moment Elijah killed Trevor. Honestly I felt bad for her.

"You" Elena whispers.

I walk towards Rose and sit down on the sofa knowing that this is going to be a long conversation.

"Ok, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years. And I don't know what's true and what's not true. That's the problem with all this vampire crap. But Klaus, I know is real."

I perk up at the familiar name, which kind of bothered me.

"who's he?" I ask curiously.

"one of the originals. He's a legend."
