Anne didn't sleep a wink. She tossed and turned unable to drift into slumber. Sadly she noticed the sun rising. As desperately as she wanted to stay home, she wouldn't give Gilbert the satisfaction. She groggily got dressed in a plain dress and headed down stairs. Marilla had already prepared breakfast and was awaiting Anne's arrival. She didn't talk much, a rare occurrence. Marilla decided to enjoy the silence

She set off on her walk to school, not bothering to wave goodbye to the Baynard boy. On the walk to school she met up with Diana at there usual spot in the woods. Connection their arms, they continued the walk. "How was yesterday? Staying after school." That was the one topic Anne didn't want to speak on, and the one topic Anne knew Diana would bring up. "That boy is the bane of my existence!" She said dramatically. "Sounds like true love to me...." She trailer off, only angering Anne more. "Diana Barry!" She replied. Diana just laughed and continued walking.

Meanwhile back at the Blythe residence, Bash was seated comfortably I front of the fire, waiting for Gilbert to come down. "Blythe, you're awfully chipper this morning. Might it have something to do with that friend, who is just a friend." He said slyly. Gilbert laughed lightly, trodding down the stairs. "Can't a man just be happy?"  He said smiling widely. "You aren't a man Blythe, you still haven't admitted your feelings." Gilbert chuckled, and ran out the door.

He o my arrived a few minutes before the girls. He was seated next to Charlie who took notice of Diana's entry. The girls found themselves moving to the boys desks, neither of them realizing it till they were there. At the desk Gilbert was mocking Charlie, not noticing the girl's presence. "Oh, I'm Charlie. I've been in love with the same girl for five years but can't say a word to her without an hour pep talk and the script on my hand." Gilbert said, mocking Charlie. Diana laughed slightly, still confused.

"Oh I'm Gilbert. I can't even admit my feelings. But I'll punch people for saying a thank gosh about her." Anne decided to interrupt. "Boys?" She said as if they hadn't been standing there.   Both of them froze, grinning widely. "Girls." The boys said in unison. "What are we talking about?" Diana said knowingly, sending the boys into a slight panic. "Uhhhhh. Anything you want!" 'Nice save Gilbert.' Name thought to herself. "Well we'd hate to Intrude, go back to your scripts and violence." Anne said while walking away. Gilbert and Charlie simultaneously turned red, facing each other with the same expression. "Yeah just a friend." Charlie added sarcastically.

Neither of them looked at the girls for all of class, until lunch. But they could see the two giggling out of the corners of their eyes. During lunch the girls built there fort, leaving the boys to go outside. Moody, Charlie and Gilbert sat in the steps saying nothing at all. After the long and silent lunch everyone went back inside the school house and sat in their seats.

"Students!" Miss Stacey said proudly, collecting the children attention. "Tomorrow we're taking a class trip to Charlotte town. Diana's kind ain't is allowing a few people to stay at her humble abode, and the rest at a hotel near by." Anne squealed excitedly, knowing she would be staying with Miss Josephine. "Who's staying with your aunt?" Asked Anne excitedly. "It was originally just going to be me you cole and ruby but she said It needed to be Equal girls and boys so I also invited Gilbert and Charlie." Anne didn't mind much, after all it was Charlotte town.
