The sound of the motorcycle roaring filled his ears to the point that it began to echo in his head, and he felt his whole body hum along with the engine. The sound resonated out into the thick woods, drafting out. The speed at which he was going made the already cold wind blow harder against his pale face, chills coursing throughout his body, even with the unnatural heat of his skin. He watched as the snow fell, creating an almost vivid sense of comfort. Though ... the thicket was anything but comforting.

Explosions and screams were coming from every direction followed by flames of red and orange surrounding him, masking the beautiful woods into a battlefield. Which is exactly what it was. Him and his gang of heroes, as people liked to call them, were reported in to Sokovia for a mission to retrieve the scepter from a HYDRA base. Exactly where Strucker, one of the many who betrayed S.H.E.I.L.D, was hiding out with a developing army. So far, the mission had been hell the second they arrived in Sokovia due to the fact they are specifically hated there, thanks to the likes of Tony Stark as most knew.

The red white and blue outfit fitting smugly on the man made him an easy target, especially the vibranium shield attached to his back, giant white star upon the circular object. The helmet of sorts covering most of his head and face just completed the package, and he was without a doubt the star spangled man everyone seemed to talk about.

Captain America ... Steve Rogers.

Blurs of blue flied past him every few seconds in an attempt to hit him but he was too swift with the motorcycle. Taking his chance an idea came to mind as a cluster of HYDRA soldiers pointed their guns at him, trees seemingly creating a circle around them. Grasping the shield connected to his suit, he threw it at a single tree making it bounce off the bark creating a dent in the wood before connecting with two of the soldiers and coming back at Steve. Quickly, he grabbed the metal and attached it back to his suit. Blue blurs continued to fly past his face and Steve's eyes fluttered to the source to find a soldier standing a few yards in front of him, shooting the gun. Speeding up, he was flying past the man but not before sticking his arm out and hitting the man down, without a doubt knocking him out cold.

"I think we might have lost the element of surprise." A voice rang in Steve's ear from the intercom followed by a grunt, Steve recognizing it as Clint Barton, their marksman. A soft, feminine scoff was also heard.

"You think." Natasha Romanoff spoke followed by the dull scream of a male. "Could have figured that out a long while back Barton."

"Captain, incoming on your left." A almost monotone voice spoke out into his intercom, and his eyes flickered to his left to see one of HYDRA's firing trucks coming his way, vastly approaching. Steve squeezed the handlebar while pulling it towards him, the engine roaring louder than before as he sped up. As the two were about to collide, he let his whole body lean forward making the bike go into a flip. At the last second he threw the bike at the truck as if it weighed nothing and landed on his feet smoothly, not a single drop of sweat forming on his skin.

"Thank you, Jarvis." Steve let out in his deep and rich tone, his voice silky yet powerful giving off a ethical vibe. "What's the view from upstairs."

"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken." Jarvis, which is the AI, spoke and Steve without thinking threw his shield at a man running towards him, the metal bouncing off him and back into Steve's hand.

"I'm closing in." Tony Stark's voice resonated into the intercom, and the whirring blasts of his suit sounded. "Jarvis am I ... closing in?" ,another blast. "Do you see a power source for that shield."

"There's a populate above the north tower." Jarvis spoke.

"Great I want to poke it with something." Tony spoke before his com went quiet.

Steve noticed the amount of enemies seemed to disperse making the woods seemingly quiet, the occasional grunts of men echoing as his teammates took them out. Even the angry and loud yell of Bruce Banner-well Hulk seemed to be louder than the diffusing battle. From above the woods horizon, Steve made out Tony flying over the HYDRA base and a blue energy surrounding the building seemed to be hit with his missiles.

"Clint!" Natasha yelled making Steve turn towards the assassin just as she began running towards an obviously injured Clint. Before Steve could even move a step, he was hit with a force making him leave his feet and spring into the air. Steve landed on his feet and felt his senses kick in as a flash of blue whipped past him.

"We have an enhanced in the field." Steve spoke before taking off towards Clint, Natasha already approaching his body, the man groaning in pain. Bullets whizzed past Steve and Natasha and he flung the shield at the machine emitting the blue rays. Almost instantly the bunker exploded and Steve rushed towards his shield laying down on the ground and let the magnets in his suit generate causing the shield to attach itself to his arm simultaneously.

"Drawbridge is down people." Tony spoke into the com.

A rumble shook the ground followed by lightning striking past Steve and towards a group of men running towards him, immediately knocking the group down. Steve looked to see Thor with his hammer by his side, the lightning sparking from the large object.

"The enhanced?" Thor spoke in his deep and full accent making his words seem slurred and slow. Steve walked towards Thor before speaking.

"He's a blur. All the new players we've faced and I've never seen this." Steve spoke while letting out a deep breathe, mist escaping into the air in front of him. "In fact I still haven't."

"Well speedy isn't the only enhanced," Natasha spoke up in a rough voice, "Clint says he was with a girl too. She apparently threw him into a tree before he was shot without physical touching him, he's hurt pretty bad. Going to need an evac."

"I can get Barton to the jet, you help Stark get to the scepter." Thor told Steve and he returned with a firm nod. Thor's eyes looked behind the two to see more men coming their way from afar. "Good, they're lining up."

"Well, they're excited." Steve replied humorously before getting into a stance with his shield facing Thor, without warning he took his hammer and swung down onto the shield creating a loud clank of the metals and electricity shot out destroying everything in it's wake. "Find the scepter." Thor said once again before he was taking off into the air.

Steve then took off sprinting towards the building without a second thought, his inhuman speed making him close in quickly. A tunnel was leading into the mountain the building lay atop of and he was soon in front of the narrow opening. Checking his surroundings, Steve made his way towards the open and narrow tunnel before stopping quickly.

"Natasha, get to Banner. It's time for a lullaby." Steve spoke into the com, "Tony on my way up -Jarvis guide me towards the main headquarters."

Before Steve approached the tunnel, he found the buckle of the mask covering his face and unbuckled it gradually. He took it off and exposed his face completely, the overwhelming feeling gone as his face was free of the leather. His sharp jawline was evident as well as the ocean blue eyes that contrasted against the snow making them glow, blonde hair disheveled and messy atop his head. As he dropped the mask, he was quickly jogging inside the tunnels and out of the cold, feeling warmth invade his body once more. What he didn't know was that fate had other plans for him ... and he was to encounter a whole different type of cold. A much, much worse cold.
