Although this was a mostly fictional piece, I found my inspiration from the story of Henderson Island and the well known Great Pacific Garbage Patch. I grew up with a house in Florida, so I've always been attracted to the beaches. They've been a place that I've always loved to visit, but with the recent hurricanes throughout the Southeastern United States that have led to the release of even more pollution in the oceans, I was drawn to the aspect of spreading awareness for our global plastic issue!
