"Nao, wake up."
He was in a daze.
Nao couldn't sleep well for the past few days.
It was as if his brain suddenly shut down.
"Nao, wake up. Your friends are here."
His mother's voice was pleasant.
It was enough to make him want to sleep again.
"Come in, you three..."
He heard the sliding of doors, as well as the footsteps of three persons.
"Nao, are you okay?"
It was Kouta's voice.
For some reason,
instead of being happy to be visited by his friends...
He felt angry.
He could not see their faces.
What if they were wearing masks all along?
He thought to himself.
"...I'm not."
He rolled over to his side, to avoid their faces.
"Nao—
Don't be like that."
Sumika tapped his shoulders lightly.
"...Don't touch me."
He remarked, pushing Sumika's hand away.
Footsteps came closer to his bed.
"Nao... I'm sorry."
It was Seiji.
"..."
He couldn't think of anything to say.
"Leave."
he murmured.
"Don't show your faces in front of me again."
That would be the final day when they were all together.
Unbeknownst to the three,
Nao mourned the passing of their friendship,
no matter how cold he was.
