Mary lowered the ramp on her horse trailer and opened the door. Standing out of the way, Latte made his way out. He flared his nostrils and looked around, wondering where the heck they were. He then remembered. They were in WaynWright. Latte immediately got excited and Mary tied him to the trailer. After she removed his show blanket and shipping boots, Latte was brushed and tacked up.

Latte slept in the waiting area as Mary Walker stayed attentive on his back making sure not to miss their turn. The announcer spoke up "Now Lisa Lockart riding Louie!" Mary steered Latte in an area so she could see Lisa's run. She was completely impressed with the two of them as they made an amazing team. She watched with a friendly smile before exercising Latte since she knew she was next to run. Mary and Latte made their way down the alley. She could feel Latte's tension and his urgency to run. Mary pushed both hands forward and kicked the gelding into a gallop. As they approached the first barrel Mary held the horn as Latte dropped down around the barrel.
