When they had finally arrived at the animal shelter, namjoon was the first to get out of the car. He went to the olders side and opened the door "my prince" he said in a fancy french voice. “thank you,” hoseok giggled at the cheesy manner, climbing out of the car before they made their way up to the shelter. “warning, i’m going to go soft and crazy from all these dogs.”
"me too babe don't worry" namjoon giggled as he interlocked the olders fingers with his own. hoseok nodded as they walked into the building, squealing when he saw one of the puppies. “oh my god joon look how cute this one is!” namjoon smiled as he dragged the older along to the front desk.
hoseok followed the younger, looking through the glass at the puppies while namjoon talked to the lady.
when they were finally allowed in, namjoon whispered to the older who was too focused on the puppies to listen to what namjoon was talking with the lady about "we can go in now"
“oh yeah,” hoseok chuckled, following his boyfriend into the room full of dogs. he had to restrain himself from not going and petting every single one. “do you see any one that you like?” namjoon didn't even respond to what his boyfriend was saying, he just ran directly to the puppies starting to pet every single one of them "babeeee look at this one" namjoon whined as he picked up a dog and showed it to the older. hoseok giggled as he pet the dog on the head, it licking his hand as he did. “aw it’s so cute,” he cooed.
"but omg look at this one" namjoon handed another puppy to the older.
hoseok took the dog, running his hand through its soft fur. “this one is adorable too, but we have to decide based on behavior too joon,” he chuckled.
namjoon pouted as he put down the cute little puppy "i knowwwww"
hoseok nudged namjoon’s arm playfully. “i never said we couldn’t get it, let’s just learn something about it, yeah?” "okayyyy, let's get a girl though" namjoon said in a very demanding voice, but smiled at the older right after.
hoseok raised an eyebrow at the younger. “why a girl?” he asked, reaching down to pet one of the dogs that jumped up onto his leg.
"bcccc then we can put bows in her hairrrr" namjoon jumped up and down like a little boy.
hoseok giggled, nodding in agreement. “i think that’s very fitting. let’s ask to look for some females now, hm?”
"i'll find someone, just keep playing with the puppies" namjoon said as kissed the olders forehead. hoseok nodded, sitting cried crossed on the ground as he played with the dogs. “don’t be too long~” he pouted.
namjoon soon came back with a lady that explained which of the dogs were male and female. hoseok nodded, taking in the information before the lady left. he picked up one of the females and held it up to his face. “can we get this one? pleaseee?” he begged with a pout and puppy dog eyes. namjoon smiled as he gave the older a small kiss on the cheek "if you really want to? then yes of course"
“yay!” hoseok grinned, giggling as the puppy started licking his chin. “what do you think her name should be?”
namjoon leaned his head to the side as he looked at the puppy "hmm what about diamond?"
hoseok nodded eagerly as he pulled the puppy closer to his chest, rocking it in his arms. “i think that’s a perfect name.” namjoon giggled at the olders action "then i'll go and get the lady again" he said as he got up from his spot. hoseok nodded, admiring the puppy and running his fingers through her soft fur as he waited for his boyfriend to return.
namjoon returned with the lady and invited the older to get up from his spot, when his boyfriend had gotten up, they took in all the words that the lady said.

the elder nodded before thanking the woman for her help. they did whatever they needed to do, before being ready to take the puppy home.
namjoon gave the puppy a small scratch behind the ear as he grabbed the olders other hand.
hoseok gave the puppy to the younger, his arm starting to get tired. “can we go buy her stuff now?” he asked, eager to give the dog a nice home. "of course, we need her to be comfortable with us" namjoon said as he held the small puppy in his hands.
hoseok nodded, pursing his lips for a moment in thought. “would all pink be too girly for her?”
"uhmmm maybe, but you choose" namjoon smiled at the older and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. hoseok giggled, scratching the puppy behind its ears before looking back up at his boyfriend. “i chose the dog, you choose the stuff that comes with her.”
namjoon nodded his head as if he was taking orders from a general "yes sir" he said with a smile on his face.
hoseok shook his head, taking the dog from his boyfriend, this time holding it with two hands so he didn’t get tired. “go pick out the stuff you big dummy.” "but i want you to come with so i don't buy the whole store" namjoon giggled, putting his hand out for the older to take it. hoseok took the younger’s arm by the wrist, putting it around his waist before again cradling the dog. “i’ll come with you, but i’m falling in love with the dog, so let me be,” he chuckled. "you love the dog more than me?" namjoon asked his a hurt look on his face as he clenched his heart. hoseok shook his head before leaning it on his boyfriend’s shoulder. “no, i was kidding. let’s just go, hm?” "but you don't love meeee" namjoon fake cried as he stood still looking up at the sky.
“fine, i don’t love you, now excuse me, me and diamond will be going now~” hoseok smirked as he started to walk. "don't leave meeee" namjoon ran after the older and grabbed his waist from behind "im sorryyyyy" hoseok shook his head, pulling himself from the younger’s embrace. “why shouldn’t i hm? i don’t love you apparently.” namjoon looked at the older and asked "are you mad at me?" “no,” he stated bluntly. “let’s just go before this turns into an argument.”
"alright" namjoon nodded feeling a little embarrassed.
