Here we are at the funeral and tension is there with Erica and Cyn, his kids and step kids, his siblings and Sonia, and things will get worse as the funeral goes forward

Pastor: Wasn't the choir wonderful with those two selections. Man brought back memories. Moving on, Now we will have reflections by his kids, his siblings, and a dear friend..... So at this time we will start with his siblings and then his children and then step children and then his very dear friend

John: This is hard for us I mean no one expected this to happen to Brian so soon. He was my big brother and friend. I could count on him for anything and for everything. He was there for me when I was in the wrong and he was there for me when I was doing right. I'm going to miss him and will carry out his memory everyday of my life

Lucy: I'm still trying to figure out what happened. I knew he was sick but I didn't know it was so far along and aggressive. We talked about everything as brother and sister. I'm still devastated because I lost the one person who stood up for me to people who bullied me for years in school. He was my angel in the form of a brother. I love Brian and he didn't always have an easy life but Sonia when she came into his life gave it stability and he was happy. He already had two kids from his first relationship but with Sonia he gained three girls and a boy who loved him like he was their biological father. Brian was pure at heart and was loved by many

Paul: As the baby of the group I want to say that I am hurt because Brian was more than just a brother to me. He was more than just a friend to me. He was my voice and as the baby I didn't get much say in the choices made that affected me in our house as kids but Brian gave me a voice and my brothers and sister respect me more because I am speaking out and up for myself and I'm going to miss Brian the most because he gave me a chance when no one else would

They sit down and then his two kids said something

Angel: I'm Angel and I am Brian Mena's only daughter from a previous relationship. My dad cares about the people he love. When he gained four more kids he felt like he was complete and in a way I did too

Juan: My father loves us especially me with the situation I was in. I am a trans man. I was born a woman and now I am a man. He was very supportive of my decision. I think he knew but wanted me to feel comfortable enough to tell him in confidence. I love my father because he loved me for me

They sit down and Erica, Cassie, Linda and Javier made their way up

Linda: When our mother met Brian we were so excited because our family was expanding. It was to be expected that new siblings would bump heads but as time went on we all got along and to this day we all still get along. Brian liked Erica more than anything. Erica was his project and she was a rough one

*everyone laughs*

Erica: Not Cool

Linda: I'm just saying but Brian was more than just a step dad to us he was the male role model we needed and desired and he was that and more. He treated our mother like a queen and his kids reminded us of us and yes we all butted heads but we were a family and we will continue to be a family even though he's no longer with us

Cassie: Linda said it all but we can stand up here and go on and on about who he was to us and what he meant to us and I'm not gonna do that because we all know who he was and what he meant to all of us

Javier: He was like a father to me and to see him laying there and he's never coming back man I lost a part of me. He was not only a father figure to me but he was my biggest supporter and as a man growing up that means ea lot

gErica: I'm still torn about all of this. I grew up thinking Brian Mena was my father but I recently found out that my father is actually my Uncle Eric. I found out that my mom isn't my mom too and that actually my mom was my dads high school sweetheart who was thought to believe was dead after giving birth to me but she's actually alive and sitting next to my dad. None of that matters because in my eyes Brian was my father and a hell of a dad too. He was the only one who could put me in my place and I would listen. Before he left us, he told me to get my act together because he didn't raise me like that. To be willing to walk away from my wife and family.

Cyn:*tears falling listening to Erica*

Jason: Y'all need to talk Cyn seriously

Jenn: How many more opportunities are you gonna have if y'all can't make this work

Cyn:*watching King sleep* I don't want to lose my kids *looks ahead and sees Sam and Eli*

Jenn: Erica wouldn't take them away from you

Jason: Erica might be a lot of things but when it comes to family she will go hard for y'all everyday of the week

Cyn: I do miss her

King: Then talk to her mama *looks up at Cyn and smiles*

Cyn:*looking down smiling through tears*

Jason: Clearly y'all have issues to work out

Cyn: I'll try again ma

After Erica and the rest of her siblings talked his closest friend talked and then he sat down and they sung again and the pastor did the eulogy and they got out of there

Linda: You good E

Erica: Yeah why you asking

Cassie: You been out of it ever since you and Cyn broke up

Erica:*sees Cyn coming*

Linda: Hey Cyn

Cassie: Hey boo

Cyn: Hey Linda and Cassie

Linda: Erica you good

Erica: Yeah I'm fine *staring at Cyn*

Cassie: Are you coming to the repast Cyn

Cyn: I'm going back to my parents house

Linda: What about the kids

Cyn: Sam is coming with me for the night

Cassie: Well it was nice seeing you again Cyn

Cyn: You too Cass

Linda: We better get going cause their about to leave

They all depart and Cyn Sam and Cyns parents headed back to the house

Jason: I haven't seen this one in quite some time

Jenn: Sam how is school going

Sam: It's okay I'm starting for the basketball team and I'm getting offers early

Cyn: My baby girl is a bad player

Jenn: I heard

Jason: I'll believe when we play each other

Sam: Grandpa Jason why are you so competitive

Cyn:*laughing*

Jason: Well baby girl when your Uncle Joel was living we use to play everyday sometimes twice a day

Sam: That's why y'all are competitive now

Jason: We are all competitive at different things but that's what makes family night awesome

Sam: That's it

Cyn: What's it sweetheart

Sam: Mama we should have a family night

Cyn: Why family night

Sam: I want both my parents around and we can be on teams and compete against each other

Cyn: Okay Sam we can have family time but mommy must agree to it too

Sam: Okay *smiling while looking out the window*

Cyn: Jesus

Jenn: That's your child

Cyn: That she is

They returned home and ate then talked and went to bed

How will Family time go?

Will Erica even agree to it?
