Angel, Gilly and Coco only loaded a truck full of the scraps to bring to the scrapyard before it got dark and they still had a lot of work ahead of them tomorrow.
Today was Saturday so Zeke didn't have school so I had to make sure he didn't go bother Angel, Gilly and Coco while they were here. The guys got here at ten am with two other guy and they got straight to work. After lunch Zeke went play in his room and I cleaned up around the house. I finished cleaning around one so I decided to make lunch for the guys so I packed them bottles of water, chips and sandwiches, before I leave I yelling to Zeke who was still playing in his room "Z, I'll be right back, I'm going give the guys food." and I left the house and as I got closer to the shed I saw Zeke helping them. Shaking my head I said "Aren't you supposed to be playing in your room Zeke?" freezing Zeke says "Um yes.?" and I say "Why are you out here then?" and he says "I just wanted to help.", Angel then says "I was going to send him back to the house but he said you said he could help." shaking my head I said "He told me he was going to play in his room.". I hand Angel the bag of food and say "Thought y'all could use this." and he said "Thanks. oh that is Creeper and this is my little brother " and before he could say anything I hear "Rosa.". Looking behind me I see the man who broke my heart all those years ago, my baby's father, Ezekiel "Ez" Reyes. Angel looks at EZ and says "You know her?" and Ez says "Ya." and he walks up to me and just looks at me for a minute before I'm pulled into a tight sweaty shirtless hug. Pulling away he says "Shit how you been?" and I said "Good and you?" and he says "I've been good." and right at that time Zeke says "Mom can I help? Please." and I said "You need to stay out of their way. You can get hurt." and he says "I will be careful." sighing I say "Fine for a little while and listen to them." and he says "Yes." and runs off to help Angel. Ez looks at me and says "You have a son?" and I say "Ya. Zeke is eight.", looking at me then Zeke then at me again he says "Shit. Is he, is he mine?" and I say "Yes." and I'm pulled into another hug with him whispering "I'm so sorry." over and over again.
