"claire!" i heard nova yell from outside the apartment.

"artemis marie barone! open up the fucking door!" alexis shouted.

arty rolled her eyes at the use of her full name before opening the door. they fell inside, all running to come to me.

"what happened? who was it? i'm sorry i wasn't there! who was the guy that saved you? was he nice?" i heard nova say very, very quickly.

"was he cute?" alexis asked.

"not the time!" cat slapped her shoulder.

"i don't know. some stranger approached me and grabbed my arm and tried to push himself onto me. i yelled for james, because i saw him on the other side of the room, but he didn't answer. then the stranger kissed me," i breathed in.

arty hugged me.

"how's this?" cat started. "we have an all-nighter and watch movies!"

"i think that's a great idea," nova smiled.

"me too," alexis agreed.

"sure," i said.

"and we brought burritos!" alexis smiled.

"i'm not even hungry," i said.

cat opened the bag and the smell filled the room.

"actually, i could eat my feelings right about now," i shrugged, getting up to grab one.

"listen up!" cat shouted, standing on the couch.

"what's up!" nova and alexis said together. usually, when one of us said 'listen up,' a pep talk was about to go down

"sometimes, we go out and drink our problems away. sometimes, we dance until we can't feel our feet. sometimes, we fuck strangers! but listen. sometimes, it's just blankets and burritos!" she said, holding her burrito up in the air.

"cheers to that!" alexis cheered.

"aye!" we all cheered, tapping our burritos.

"let's get the movie in!" arty shouted.

"okay, but i also want to find out who the stranger was. actually, strangers—plural," i said.

"and how do you plan on doing that?" arty asked.

"i don't know, social media? you can find anyone," cat said, already pulling out her phone.

"i'll start on austin's page. he has to know them if they were both invited," nova announced.

"why don't we just text the nice stranger?" i asked. "he did put his number in my phone."

"wouldn't it be more fun to look ourselves?" nova sighed. "like the fbi!"

"wouldn't it be more fun to figure this all out quicker?" arty said, biting into her burrito.

"i'll text him," i told them.

we searched in silence for about five minutes before alexis spoke up.

"guys, what the hell?" alexis said.

"what?" cat asked, not looking up.

"why is austin following a porn account?" she gagged.

"ew!" arty and cat said in unison.

"probably because he's not getting any action otherwise," i said.

"any success on the mystery man?" alexis asked me.

"no, he keeps saying that it shouldn't matter."

"tell him that i want to know if he has cute friends," alexis smiled.

"you're still obsessed with guys?" arty rolled her eyes.

"when is she not?" cat sighed. "but we all are, let's be honest."

"that's not a good idea," i rolled my eyes.

"claire, you've had the worst of luck with guys," alexis said.

"don't remind me."

"i think i found a contestant!" cat shouted.

she turned her phone, showing us the instagram page. i took it from her, looking at his photos.

"no," i said tapping onto his most recent picture. i zoomed in on his friend's face, and there he was.

"i found him! it's his friend!" i shouted, clicking on his name."

nova took the phone off of me.

"liam davis?" she said. "what a basic name!"

alexis took the phone off of nova.

"look at his drunk ass! his bio says he's nineteen!" she showed us.

arty took the phone from alexis.

"well, that's illegal. and, he's high in this," arty rolled her eyes, showing us his instagram story.

"we have to fuck him the fuck up," alexis said.

"oh, totally," arty said, giving the phone back to cat.

"i have an idea," i smiled.

"tell us!" cat jumped up.

* * *

"alright, the account has been made," nova smiled.

"what's the username? i'm going to connect it to my instagram," arty asked.

"bethanyjohnson and the password is 1999," i said.

"i posted the first picture," alexis showed us her phone.

"such a fucking catfish!" i clapped my hands.

"one thousand people that we're following?" nova laughed. "who was in charge of that?"

"i had to follow some famous people!" arty smiled.

"bitch, like who?" cat rolled her eyes.

"well, shawn mendes of course! and a few other singers," she turned her phone off.

"that's gonna be our downfall," alexis looked at her.

"i need some hot guys," cat sighed.

"slow down, we need revenge first," i patted her shoulder.

"correction, you need revenge—and i'm here to help—but i also need a guy," cat said.

"we all do, sis," nova sat back.

"i'm just trying to fuck james up, currently, soooo," alexis laughed.

"let's just watch this movie," arty smiled at alexis's comment and turned the movie on.

"hopefully he'll reply by the end of it," i said.

"hopefully."

* * *

"he replied!" cat shouted in the middle of the movie.

"not now!" arty said, leaning in to watch the movie.

"yes, now!" alexis jumped, pausing the movie. "what'd he say!"

"he said, 'i'd love to, baby,' ew!" cat fake gagged.

"literally why did i date his jackass?" i rolled my eyes.

"glad to know that we're over the moping phase," nova said.

"we all know i wasn't moping over that," i said.

"and i would mope too!" alexis put her arm around me. "you're a fucking soldier, claire."

"hell yeah, baby! a queen you are!" arty joined in.

"and now we're going to play his ass so hard," cat smirked.

"cheers to that!" nova said, holding up her glass of sparking apple cider.

"cheers to that," we all repeated.
