The woman looked out to the moor as she heard hoof beats. Instinctively, her hand brushed against her bow, just in case.

"Is it her?"

"It better be, or we're all gonna be in a bit of trouble. Sounds like four horses at least."

But as the first riders appeared over the hilltop, she could she it was indeed who she was looking for. A girl with flaming red hair cantered towards her on a black draft.

"Four as promised, and I convinced another one to join the cause. I didn't even has to use the sword," she waved her hand towards the gilded silver blade at her hip. "Not bad, huh Meredith?"

"It seems suspect that you all slipped out unnoticed. There could be a trap up ahead."

"Or maybe they didn't notice us. I--"

"Wait!" Meredith's companion interrupted. "Someone's riding towards us."

Now that he had mentioned it, there was indeed a growing thunder over the hills.

"Royalists! All of you, follow Rose. Keep south and stay in the trees."

"What about--" Meredith silenced the red-head with a glare.

"I'll circle behind them and try to take some of them out."

She reached for her bow, "The safety of many outweighs the safety of a few."
